Cloke confirmed in is great news.

Would this be the first time in Buckley's tenure that he's had an ENTIRE forward line complement to pick from? Cloke, Reid, White, Moore, Elliott, Fasolo, Karnezis. Basically every true forward on our list is available for selection for effectively the first time in 4 years. Fantastic.

In: Cloke, White
Out: Adams (if injured?), Moore

Eddie said this morning that Cloke is definitely in for tomorrow night.

He then mumbled something about how choices need to be made about how tall we go into the game, then mentioned something about Darcy Moore and where he fits in. It sort of sounded like he was the likely out (if you read between the lines) -- but don't hold me to it because I could be wrong.

Guess the VFL be Defintally worth going too.

Guess White is in too

Just a shame it didn't happen 5 weeks ago, on paper it looks a very potent forward line

I wouldn't be playing two rucks at the scg, we need run and carry and spread quickly from the stoppages
Yeah we do, but we literally have no one outside the 22 that can do that to a good level. Kennedy maybe but don't think he'll play.

Either Witts or White should come in to give Grundy a chop out. My view is White is crap and offers nothing more than Witts so Witts should play.

Speed. He offers speed. Something Witts doesn't. Given Sydney's missing players, we'd be stupid to go with Witts.

Reid, Cloke and White with White giving a chop out is the perfect way to go in this game. It's not like Witts dominates hit outs, but at least White gives you SOMETHING at ground level.

Add Patty k too that mix and on paper , we would have the most potent forward line in the league out of all other clubs..
It makes sense too rest some of our young brigade , too elevate Patty K and Snow White in the forward line. Happy to see some players given a spell against a depleted SWANS outfit.

It would be fair too say that Patty K needs to be rewarded and going by his last 3 games , he has certainly achieved his KPI. Also judging by Snow whites last goal in the reserves match against the blues , White saluted with a fist pump to the selectors that he means business if elevated to the seniors, Unfortunately Ben K looked very subdued when they belted out the team song after the match..

Yeah I understand that, but my point he doesn't use it. Defensively he doesn't do anything at all and thats why he was dropped. Offensively yeah okay, maybe but I'm personally still taking Witts because at least he can compete in the air and be better in the ruck.

Whites rating has lifted since he's been dropped!

I'm going to assume Adams is right since there hasn't been any news of him missing training.

I would go:
IN: Cloke, White
OUT: Moore, Maynard

This isn't an omission on form but on structure. We're one defender too many with Frost, Brown, Marsh, Scharenberg, Williams, Maynard, Toovey Langdon (that's already 8 players that are really defenders and I believe Varcoe should be used both back and forward) and I don't really like any of them in the midfield rotation.

White comes in to help Grundy and he was very good in the VFL display with 4 goals and a hand in several others, impacting the contest well. Hopefully he hasn't forgotten how to ruck but that's a risk I think we should take as Grundy clearly would have benefitted from real support and our structure against Carlton would have benefitted as well from not having one of Reid or Moore rucking.

Whilst there would be arguments to keep Moore, Maynard in and get De Goey to come in as well, they're all first year players and can develop in the 2s just as well after getting that taste for senior football.

I"m one of those who never actually had an issue with White. I"m not sure why he was dropped personally. If anything, I think he can be turned into a really good defender in the Josh Gibson mould. Similar build, better pace, similar size. I think he could be a really really good full or centre half back. But even then, White should be brought in for THIS game for various reasons.

- Playing old side, everyone tries to stick it up the old side
- He'll FINALLY be able to play the role he was brought in for, 3rd forward/relief ruck. Give him a chance to shine
- He's a better forward than Wiits/Grundy
- He's not much worse in the ruck

Buckley would be making yet ANOTHER shit selection decision if he goes Witts instead of White (assuming either get selected).

And Why Moore plays. He had a Defensive side to his game.

Vankri you forgot Sinclair also from the list of defenders.

Makes it even more of an issue doesn't it. 9 defenders that are not really great in the midfield in the team, so even if you bench one at all times, you are playing +2 behind the ball.

Edit: and it kind of forces you to use a defender as a sub which isn't ideal.

Cloke is a lock to come in, so he plays as the CHF role.
Ben Reid stays at full forward after the 4 goal display on the weekend.
For mine we need someone who has a bigger body who can give a chop out in the ruck but also provide a target in the forward line so White comes in.

Moore is a bit stiff but Cloke is a lock for the FF/CHF role and White offers more in the ruck.

White was picked up to play this role with Reid and Cloke up forward but hasnt had the opportunity due to Reid's injuries.

INS: Cloke, White
OUTS: Moore, Toovey

B - Marsh Brown Langdon
HB - Williams Frost Varcoe
C - Crisp Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - Swan Cloke Fasolo
F - Elliott Reid White
R - Grundy Adams Greenwood
INT - Blair Scharenberg Maynard
SUB - Sinclair

For me, I'd like to see the below:
JDG, Cloke in.
Not sure who goes out. Darcy would be a chance, possibly Maynard too.

However, pretty sure Bucks will bring the Sack back, possibly the Seed too.
Kennedy, PK, Goldsack, White unlucky.

Cloke if right is a certainty, all others are borderline
Will be really interesting to see which younger players play v returning other senior players ie how much games will they give Moore Maynard etc, don't see them dropping Toovey

Dude. Doooood. You know my feelings on Toovey, but let it go. You and I both know he won't get dropped.

I want to see Toovey replaced for the long-term ASAP, but I thought he was okay last week. He matches up fairly well on Goodes for size and pace too. I think it will be Scharenberg out instead of Tooves, which will be a shame given how well he looked after coming on last week.
