Do you realize we have a top 2 spot sewn up already?

If a week off helps Tex or Sloane or anyone else get closer to full fitness then they should sit it out.

Currently, the Crows only have 5-6 games left to play. with 7 weeks left in the season. Rest them this week and that could be 4 games in 7 weeks
This time of year if they are fit enough play the best Team you don't mess with form. And besides, we may be playing Sydney again in the finals and a win this week will go a long way in exorcising the demons from last years lose at home and the Demons get a little bit bigger.

Maybe you should read again what Pyke has said in the media about resting players.
I have read it.

He also said if players have an injury they wont play. Sloane and Tex are both injured. No doubt they could play but with very little to nothing on the line surely they wont. Unless the injuries are very minor and they have no chance of aggravation.

So you'd risk Tex and Sloane if they are 50-50 to beat Sydney in a dead rubber?

They have an injury that they can get over by Friday. If they do so, they'll play.

People seem to think this week is a dead rubber which is incredible. Beating Sydney will give us a huge amount of confidence leading into the biggest finals series for us since 2012.

This week counts for absolutely nothing!

As a crows fan dont you remember throwing everything at and beating West Coast in the final round of 2005!

Scoreboard started at 0.0 to 0.0 in the first final the following week.

It not a dead rubber it an important game to win at home against a possible opponent in the Final series.
If they are Fit they play, This game is too important to rest players.
Champion teams Play to win you don't mess with that.

And what if we beat Sydney without Tex or Sloane?

Players play with injuries, but when you are two weeks out from the finals, with injuries that could get worse, to play them would be dumb.

And I'm sure the team will have a heap of confidence going into the finals if Tex plays and makes his toe worse so he misses the finals.

Every premiership team for the last 10 years has lost a game in August. Im sure that stat got rolled out yesterday.

I think we all agree it fit they play. 6 days ago though they injured themselves and Tex has an injury that could get worse, you'd risk not having Tex for the finals?

And imagine the confidence if we won without Tex?

It is the dictionary definition of a dead rubber

Plenty of Champion teams have strategically rested players down the stretch.

The benefit of stitching up top two with 2 games remaining is that we DON'T have to go hammer and tongs the next fortnight, whereas every other club does. That is our key advantage.

We lost to North Melbourne on the corresponding fixture in 1998.

We beat Sydney in the minor round last seaaon.

Roo even said it during the Port game, they carried injured players because they had to keep winning.

Should we do the same when we don't need to keep winning?

I'm very surprised with the lack of vision by some all for the feel good factor of beating Sydney.
