Joke Toby Greene only got two weeks for that hit on Rance, he targeted him and punched him, that's 4 weeks with his bad record, typical, he comes back against us

Depends if you can execute it well enough. Richmond did it perfectly. They set up their zone very far up the ground to clog the corridor and stop our run from defence. They had 71 inside 50s to our 42 for only 81 points, but they stopped us from scoring. The ball was pretty much locked into their forward half and we couldn't use our run. We kept turning the ball over from defence because of their zone. Cotchin and Martin stood up and imposed themselves physically on the game, which won them the game in the end.

The problem for Bulldogs using that strategy is that they have to win the centre clearances in order for it to be effective. Bulldogs are currently last and Essendon 4th in the competition. Richmond won the centre clearance count that day by 4.

They also positioned Rance at the back of their zone to chop off any quick kicks from stoppages. It works well at the MCG, but I don't think it'll work well at a fast deck like Etihad. We have some speedy forwards that can slip to the back of the zone and run in on goal. The game can open up quite a bit at Etihad.

The G is harder to clog up than Etihad I'd have thought.

It takes quicker to get from one end to the other at Etihad for whatever reason. Maybe it's perception, but that's why generally speaking, games are higher scoring at Etihad than the MCG.

Regardless, game will probably be won in the midfield

Ballchambers is a soft ruckman and English is perfect for this game..I think English was best on groud in the vfl.
You are on the money I think,if I can support you,and Ill be cheering you on.Yeah,go at their weak points ,as you say their ruck is pathetic, probably the weakest in the comp.and their mid field very uneven, destroy them by grinding them down, and out working them ,we did!

You're not real tolerant to posters from other teams it seems. Take a chill pill dude.

Did you read the rubbish in their thread? Apparently we are the worst Premiers, only Premiers because if the bye (apparently the other teams missed out), yaddah, yaddah yaddah.

Let Essendon talk themselves up - it's only going to make it more embarrassing should they lose, and their board funnier to read as a result.

I mean, you'd think you wouldn't be so confident when you're only a hair's breadth better than 50% chance to win the match: http://squiggle.com.au/game/?gid=274

Not all of us have that opinion. I was glad your lot won the premiership last season, well deserved. Lot of respect for your players and coach.

Best of luck this week. If we can't make the 8, I'd rather the Doggies do out of the other teams for sure .

We're bloody lucky Cordy and Young are in decent form as young KPDs. Our spine is decimated. Morris, Adams, Boyd and Redpath is probably our best spine. There's even a case that Campbell could be in the team over Roughy based on recent form.

Yeah I did, but history will say that we are the premiers of 2016 and always will be, so why get wound up in what they say. Every board has some unruly folks but if someone comes to our board in a genuine attempt to converse about anything, particular the upcoming game, then why not welcome it instead of staying in our insular bubble. I have made a few posts on their board in recent days and they have been pleasant to me, more than I can say for the Swans board a while back. We are having a shit year but there is no point taking it out on other people when they have done nothing wrong.
