So no Wardlaw today. That’s despite aggravating his hamstring 6 weeks ago.
Will he test at the Combine whenever that is?
I’m going to be be bloody cynical if he goes on to being a durable 250 game star player at a big Vic club after sliding due to perceived hamstring issues and minimal exposed form in his draft year.

Spewing no Wardlaw today, was hoping he would be back. Hopefully a precaution and will be 100% for the combine.

I don’t think we are scared to take injured juniors for better or worse.
Traditionally we rate previous years performance pretty highly too (I’m sure I read that somewhere).
They’re the obvious two aren’t they at picks 4 and 6.
Call me a tin hat wearer but it just seems a bit suss.
21 days for a standard hamstring no? Well he’s had twice that amount of time and hasn’t got up. Which if it’s the case that it’s a dinkum injury we’re right to be concerned that he could have an underlying issue.
Guess we’ll just have to see on draft night where he goes.

That's quite a mark from Gruzewski coming back with the flight.
Gruzewski's stocks rising after his second goal in the first quarter.
Cadman no issues with converting from 50m.
Yep, slight push in the side and no pulling of the jumper, should've been play on.
So, some thoughts on the first quarter.
Thought Country's midfielders were right on top (despite Metro taking the lead into the break).
Szybkowski and Hustwaite were both regularly involved with Hollands probably the best player on the ground in the first quarter.
The Metro mids were either poor (i.e. Ashcroft who I noticed had four disposals with two of them being turnovers) or not involved (i.e. Mackenzie and Tsatas). Sheezel was also quiet and missed a very gettable shot early.
Gruzewski was Metro's best taking one good and one great mark and coverting both into goals.
Cadman and Humphrey both were good but only converted one between them.
Watson looks a goer despite being tiny.
Hoping the game continues to open up as all players (Hollands excluded) seemed to be playing a little bit hesitantly.

Harley Reid the best player out there tbh. Can see why he’s fave for number 1 next year. Haven’t seen much of Mackenzie so far. Need Humphrey to get a run in the mids, lots of score involvements so far but pretty poor skills
