Just read that article, with Pick 2, definitely do Cadman but no to Clark (not with pick 2 anyway). Silly to take Clark at 2, feels 5-9 range.

Clark did his best to put our recruiters off, gave away 6+ frees.
What were the frees for though? Is he having a crack but needs some work on technique or constantly having brain fades?

How many hammies has wardlaw done? Reported on recently? Was it just the two back to back? If it was I would bank on it being just a re tear after he tried to come back too early rather than flat out dodgy hammies. If it's like 4 or 5 then maybe the dodgy hammy issue.

Will be interesting to see how he tests. Shame they don't get put through solid match sim. Only time he may do it is in sprints but that's not fatigued and also a planned sprint vs burst reaction sprint are a little different.

Well Cadman would be a CHF at AFL level, Lose the CBD, Barrass mark, kicks it to Cadman, to OA. no midfield needed.

Idk how I feel about Cadman at 2 if that’s our pick, I do like him but I don’t feel like he’s going to be a superstar key forward

I do trust us with talls most of the time I guess, so there is that.

I hope we aren’t considering Clark at 2, I like him but not at 2.

Brander didn’t turn out great…

If we are talking Clark hopefully we are looking at another pick in the top 10.

Hope we are meeting with Warldaw.

Yep, hence why I said “most of the time”. Brander was a shocker lol

They definitely will, I just wonder if the injuries will scare us off

Still feel like we’re gonna surprise a few and grab Tsatas

Clark strikes me as the kind of guy who will slip, Jack of all trades, master of none, Nothing to really push him apart from others

I’d be absolutely livid if we picked him at 2, I think he’s a safe pick in the sense I’m confident he’s going to be a solid player for a long time, but I see very little exciting upside or anything like that.

Hope that doesn’t sound too harsh as I do genuinely like Clark, but there are at least 5-6 clear better options in my eyes

Inside mid would and will be good, but also is fine in general play. For comparison last year Hobbs was a better inside mid but less balanced and went at #13

Most years you would think he goes 10-20, no way we are that desperate to reach

Clark would be the safest bet midfielder for West Coast.

Ashcroft not available
Wardlaw hammies and less exposed form
Tsatas questions on defensive game
Phillopou Back issues and rated highly due to potential
Sheezel more a forward and go home factor

You could throw McKenzie and Hollands in next to Clarke. Reckon all 3 will be in the 5-15 pick range.
We don’t know the extent of either Warlaws hammies or Phillipou’s back. I’m sure the club will be asking questions and looking at what medical reports are available. Unfortunately clubs can’t do there own one on one assessments.

The Eagles will just be doing due diligence meeting players. I’d imagine we have meet or will meet most of this years draft as we have a number of selections.

Wasn't Andrew Brayshaw seen as a vanilla safe pick at the time?

You could look at it another way comparing them to Clark.

Wardlaw more explosive
Tsatas more attacking
Phillipou more potential
Sheezel more a forward ? why does that matter ? go home factor was made up on forums so his no different to any other Victorian player

I would actually have Clark ahead of Phillipou slightly but point is they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I like Sheezel first, wish people would give the go home stuff a rest without stating any actual evidence to back it up. Clark may want to stay in victoria more so than Sheezel for all we know.

Clark close to top 5 pick , some say he is a top 5 pick .
Our pick 3 may not be considered a reach maybe stretch but not a major stretch.

Just shows no-one knows who we pick .
I like Clark but didnt think he stood out much in that last game metro vs country. Id sooner take the chance on Wardlaw if hammies check out ok, Wardlaw's highlights look a level above Clark (you have to watch them, you cant go by just possessions I know clark averages more) and he can do everything Clark can do. Wardlaw is an athletic version of Clark who can impact his possessions more. He is more muscular than Clark too and will be more physically intimidating at the next level imo. Its all about the hammies though.

Not me. We have needs all over the ground including key forwards. I'd be happy with "best available" no matter what position. We will be at the pointy end of next year's draft as well.
