I did say it facetiously but since you asked.

Damien Hardwick was the only one in the first 5 years. However he has been at the basket case that it Richmond for 7 years which is an outstanding achievement in itself as not so long ago, Richmond would have been on their 7th coach since Hardwick.

Since then there has been Leon Cameron who took his team to a kick from the GF; Simpson who took WCE to 6th this year and a GF last year; Beveridge, who won the premiership; Bolton at Carlton and now Fagan at the Lions.

Thanks.

Those stats were both for 2016 buddy... Definitely not Frosts best season. In fact, considering he only played 10 games and was dropped due to form I'd say it was his worst.
Vintage Big Footy comparison Frost v Green .. one for the ages ..

Qld the place to be if you wanted to de-frost .. less chance he kicks the dew in the 2s up there .. I'm sure his mgr's phone won't go into meltdown phase with counter offer from the Suns .. Hopefully Bris don't go cold on him either .. Icy why the move would appeal to him ..

A lot of Green's struggles could have to do with supply into the forward line. I think he goes alright.

It was the comparison between Wells and Green. They aren't in the same ball park as player comparisons. That's because of how good Wells is.

Chris Pelchan on AFL Tonight was quite positive about us tonight. He thinks we have the talent to make finals last year but need to make a few tweaks to the list to improve. Jake Niall is almost certain that Wells to us will happen (nothing new), Pelchan not sure why we are chasing Mayne, but thinks WHE would be a good recruit for us.

Sad to see see Frosty go. Purely because his name is Jack Frost and he looks like an albino.

Sounds good

True 25 was generous given the deal they have on the table for Frost!

On face value I agree. I'm not as in tune with the draft as I once was so with him having those traits I can't help asking "but what's the catch?". It could well be a Darling type situation, he may not have enough tricks when the ball hits the deck or his type isn't in demand, but he does seem a good complimentary player to the forward mix we already have.

Who know's the grand plan might be Mayne at $600k-$450k-$300k-$150k (yr 1-4) whilst we develop Battle underneath. I just think a selection between 15 and 20 is key for that sort of strategy. The issue there obviously being that we're stuck with Mayne for 4 years...

Is that a request for some hypothetical trades? ;)

I have said before and will again that I hope we trade hard to get high picks in this draft... 2017 1st would be on the table for sure, even if 2017 draft is rated more highly for KPP. If we can get the picks for Logue + Battle and have enough left over for Daicos + Brown we should go for it now, not keep our powder dry on the slight chance of luring Wright or someone next year. Get the extra year of development in to these guys, don't look at some 17yo or prospective trade target and think "lets put everything on hold for now, on the off chance we can get him".

Anyway, just the way I see it... I think between Witts, Cloke, Frost, 2017 1st round, 25, 43, throw in Williams, Oxley and even someone like Greenwood (who I like, but is fairly tradeable looking at our list imo) we should be able to get picks for Logue and Battle (or another KPP if the club prefers), Daicos, Brown and trade for WHE.

Anyone heard if we are enquiring on Harrison Wigg from Adel ? Think he'd be a good fit as small back to take the small fwd & who can pinch hit in midfield. 3rd next year not signed up yet ..

Maybe. I tend to think that we are selling Frost short but I guess we will see how he goes at his new club.
I define the success of a club's development system as the ability to get players to a level that they can meet and exceed the needs of the team within a defined role. We used to be very good at extracting the best out of players who appeared limited on the surface. The Doggies seem to be doing it well, I wonder if we have fallen behind the pack, and if so, why is that?

We no longer have a head of development. We also at one time had some very good people in those roles. Alan Richardson comes to mind.

Still nothing official about broomhead re-signing with the club.did hear was a done deal but have not heard anything yet.
I'm expecting a Copeland, (still not sold out) feel good moment with a few announcements.

If we can get a reasonable pick for Witts, how about offering that to the Cats for Motlop?

Seems like Motlop could be acquired on the cheap (draft pick wise). Varcoe, Wells and Motlop in the one line up would be juicy!
