If we trade Bailey Williams I’d be surprised if we got more than a late 2nd for him and that’s being optimistic, he’s not a good player.

I would take any one of pick 21 or Hardeman from the Roos or pick 26, DeMattia or Allan from the Pies and run for the hills TBH. Same goes for Petch. Only thing that inflates the trade is that he’s contracted for two more years.

Yeah I don't understand why some fans think he is any good. Poor ruck and poor forward. What exactly is he good at? He tries hard but just doesn't have the skills required. Losing nothing have Jack Williams play instead of him

We have players who are either already better or the club is showing faith in.

He's not the best ruck and he's at best the 4th best forward we have currently.

If he can net us another pick in the second or early third round I'd take it happily. Gives us anther throw at the stumps at the least.

Neither player you've mentioned has proved they can cut it at the top level yet either.
For sure, we need players with their skillset though.

Pies - Ed Allen + 26 + F2
WCE - BW + 59 + F3


From North I would want pick 19 plus Hardeman for BW + 59

There is precisely 0% chance we get Allen & 2 second rounders out of Pies for B.Williams. If he did go, we might get one second rounder & without Allen. Or Allen on his own at a stretch

Hopefully the AFL changes the bidding rules for F/S and Academy this year so that a club has to match the full value of the draft pick they're bidding against.
And then we bid on Levi Ashcroft at pick 2-3 forcing Brisbane to match for the full amount.
They would have to trade into the 2nd round this year to so and would generate some very robust discussions with briztoon in this (or future) threads.

If we're after some midfield reinforcement until Reid, Hewett, Ginbey, FOS/draper mature, I think Garcia is the clear best option.
1) Shown he can hold his own at AFL level
2) Likely comes cheap
3) Is still quite young
4) WA boy
5) May be frustrated he remains down the pecking order at the dogs

A better option than dev was last year & Baker is this year. FWIW I think Baker's interview after the Crows win sounded a lot like a bloke not going anywhere

I reckon Williams’ value is about as high as it ever would be and would absolutely entertain a trade from him. JWilliams as a forward/second ruck has really come on and can back up Flynn while Barnett develops. We need to find a way to manufacture additional draft picks or young talent and this is one of the few options available to us.

Id take Ed Allan for BW if offered. If the Pies want to try to extend their premiership window by trading in top up players then BW would certainly be a good target. Hes still young enough to be around Daicos for a long time and would replace Mason Cox

Id be more interest in a three way where we landed one of Freo's late 1sts to get either Travaglia or Bo Allan, BW to Pies and Pies Allan to Freo.

Agree but the two we would be trading in are contract and would fit a huge need for us.

Would need to be in the market for a sercivable back up ruck (unlikely we sign English imo) and not sure who would play 2nd ruck if Williams isn’t playing. Can’t see Oscar/Darling/Waterman being that player going forward
