North may offer him more than the 1 year he has left at west coast, and he wont be best 22 for us.
Hed be a walk up starter at North.

Assuming we want a player of some description, I went through the lists of the Pies, Dees, and North as the 3 clubs in need of a KPF the most.
At the Dees:
Lachie Hunter as a winger? Straight swap for Darling
Jed Adams young KPD? Darling + F3 or something, but cant see Dees doing it as they dont have many young KPDs

Pies:
Ed Allan would be nice but doubt hes gettable
**** all else worth chasing tbh

North:
Only one I can see that id want and is potentially gettable is Hardeman

Maybe make it a F2 instead of 23.
Darling+F2 for Hardeman and F4

Frees up pick 23 to chase other list needs than a half back, a ruck or KPD potentially
Why the **** would darling want to finish his career at norf !

That's about as appealing as w&nking with a cheese grater

Also worth remembering Banfield, Evans and Walley are tracking nicely for 2025, so we will be looking to get in future picks somehow.
All after pick 30 at this stage . Evans rookie
Keeping our 3rd and 4th rounders and adding other late picks could be on the cards

Nick Hind DFA? Very surprised Essendon just cut him outright. Too old for us and wouldn’t move just for WAFL footy, but he’ll surely go again somewhere and we could absolutely do worse to keep some pressure on the Duggan/Hunt types.

Far out, delistings announced already?

Not messing around at the Bombres.

When will ours be announced?

Doesn't make sense for North either

Pick 3 and our F1 should only be traded if someone offers us a kings ransom for them

Use pick 3 on the best available mid left on the board and keep our F1 with the intention of bringing in another high end mid to join Harley and whoever we get with pick 3

It’s not complicated

And it 100% has to be to get the attention of the suns. Points are meaningless unless you have Academy/FS/NGA prospects.

The other thing being if they don't have pick 5 Richmond can't ask for it for Rioli.

Is the McCluggage early season talk still viable for Wce ??

His pace is his only attractive football quality.
Poor defender , poor kick and poor decision maker

Agree. Lalor has the size and power you look for in a top 3 pick. He seems to have similar traits to Harley - which I'm not sure is a good or bad thing. I think ideally we'd want someone slightly more outside and classy to complement Harley but I think we just have to go best available.

I'd be open to trading pick 3 to Crows for pick 4 and second rounder and using pick 4 on Lalor. We'd just have to have the Crows convinced we are locked onto Draper.
Agree with all of this, love so much about Lalor. But is he too similar to Harley? Draper adds such a different type of mid.

Then Hewett if he can get himself right (praying) he's got the perfect blend of contested and outside game.

While we have picks at the pointy end, I want another elite midfielder.

Hewett's got no guarantees his foot will let him be a top end mid.

Dev is a plodder who may have an impact at AFL level for us(if we even get him). Would play a defensive role, I imagine, like Redden.

Peatling is good, no guarantees he comes to us.

Hutchinson's played half a game as a mid. Looked very good, hope he trains there over summer but it's a very small sample size.

Hall can't kick for shit. Good size to play the extractor role though. Keep him as far from the wing role as possible.

Kelly should be an outside receiver. Disposal is shocking under pressure(shocking under no pressure recently also).

Duggan needs to seriously work on his kicking if he's to play a role on the wing.

Maric looks ok on the wing. Would like to see him base his game off Sicily though. Played back before his draft year, so it's not unfamiliar territory for him.

Yeo - Old.

Need someone elite to pair up with Reid at centre bounces and any of the top 5 rated kids in the draft look likely types, all with different strings to their bows.
Yes none of the other young kids are guarantees, and im not saying to trade away our first pick. All it is for me is that id prefer FOS over Draper this year.
We need to fit in whoevber we draft somewhere, and we are still in the stage where the list is so young that we cant afford to really carry a player. If the guys were a year older, with Reid going into his 3rd year then yes we can a bit easier.

Draper cant do another role so well as far as I can tell, hes gotta be in the guts. FOS being the more leaning outside player is probably better at half back or something for a year until Kelly or Yeo fully remove themselves from the midfield

We dont need Richmond's F1 for Sharp. We're still a very real chance of getting Pick 1 2025.

Mcgovern another season at 33 holding the defensive 50. Yeo another season leading the grunt work at 31. I dont trust both of these guys to play 80% of the games.

Add to that no Barrass or even Waterman/Allen have a rough patch in form.

No Ruckman, Flying Ryan could be traded, assuming for picks....alot of water to go under the bridge and all real possibilities.
