How many picks do you want/think we should use?
If we delist Rotham, LEdwards and Witho, then trade out Barrass and Darling, we have 8 list spots. Trade in 2 mids and use 6 picks. I dont think we should go too young and the club thinks so too with all these early-mid 20s guys we have been inquiring about
Need another spot I think because Longy went to the Long term injury list maybe burgiel also.

Negative, ive counted for that.
We had 1 extra rookie going into 2024 instead of a guy on the main list, so by delisting a rookie we can get a main list spot back
JJ, Gaff, Rotham, LEdwards, Witho, Darling, Barrass and a rookie gives us 8 spots.

Rogi, I've somehow ended up with 9

Brisbane still need points this year so any deal for Robertson will likely involve a 2024 pick from our side. eg. 59 rather than F4
Brisbane have 56 and 69, worth 243 points.
We have 59 and probably 64 for Darling, worth 259 points.

Id ask to do 59+64 for Dev + 56 + 69.
Brisbane gain 16 points for Dev.
If they resist then id settle for Dev+56 for 59+64

Brisbane need to maximise points in this year and I don't think 16 points is going to be worth their time. Ideally we'd get Dev for a swap of fourths. ie 59 for Brisbane F4.

Is young banners a small fwd with mid potential?

Does he have his old man's kicking style?
Nah he's a lot taller and less stocky than Drew, 190cm forward/winger.

Huge work-rate, courageous, very strong mark, doesn't have Drew's kicking style (his younger bro Harper does though) and he's very smart with his ball use and positioning.

He seemed like he'd raced up the draft order at one stage but haven't heard much about him since . What do you think his draft range would be? Seems a definite upgrade on trew

He’s an outstanding talent if his kicking can be sorted. Phil seems to think his previous hip injury could put limitations on him to able to prepare for AFL and have longevity in the game. I’m definitely no medical professional so I’ll stay away from that stuff and just say this.

I went back and watched a few of the WA state games recently and he was outstanding. Matched it easily with the best midfielders in the draft that are being spoken about as top 10 prospects. His work in tight is really proactive and he gets first to the ball, probably as good as anyone in the draft in getting his hands on it. His handball and decision making by hand is very good, has good size and strength and quick enough to get the job done around the contest, has a nice sidestep and is as tough as nails at the contest which is complemented by a really high work rate.

Him, Allan, Boxshall and Rodriguez (all 4 were very impressive at different times during the champs) had the powerful VIC Metro midfield covered right up until the 4th quarter, where i think the ability of Metro to be able rotate more due to better depth took its toll on the game and gave Metro the upper hand.
WA came into the championships seen as easy beats and lacking a quality midfield. They certainly proved that not to be necessarily true.

He probably sits in that 40+ range, it will mostly come down to clubs medical assessments and if clubs feel they can improve his kicking which went backwards post hip surgery. I personally think he’s a lot better than pick 40+ but i don’t know enough about WCE_phil concerns and if he can fix his kicking now he’s had to adapt post surgery. Such is the life of an amateur draft watcher.

Dev is never going to get a game for them, hes way too far back in the pecking order. It just clears his list spot and they get a few points for their trouble

Farrell for all his kicking exploits is a very poor defender . Not quick and soft .

At least jetta had wheels to go with his poor defending
Funny...I've been keeping an eye on him this year and I don't agree.

He's got some speed (not Jetta) and his defending is actually better than I gave him credit for. I think he's improved in this area.

It's also using him in combination as per Phil's original post.

You might be disappointed if Damien Barrett mail is correct. He reckons McQualter has done very well in the process and is likely reason why Baker and Bolton haven’t nominated a club yet.
I cannot understand why people would trust that slimy little pr1ck Barrett. Who in the real world would have believe Pyke would be telegraphing the outcome of a contest that are yet to be finalised by releasing such info to Barrett? Nobody.

Reality is that John Ralph and Damien Barrett are guessing.

We as a collective need to stop jumping at shadows.

Is there a world where we look past Warner this year and have a crack at Angus Sheldrick instead? He might break in next year but Mills is still in front of him, even if Parker were to finish up. We could potentially target Sheldrick this season and Warner next.

Did say if the mail is true? There would be more people in the know as well, Not just Pyke?

Same again if the the reason Bolton and Baker haven’t officially nominated a club is waiting to see if McQualter gets the job.

No one jumping at shadows, it’s clear anything could happen this off season and what direction the club chooses to go.

Unlike some I’m opened minded and just enjoying the ride.

Thanks for the advice though….

They spoke about Shedrick on trade bell.

Teams have enquired but he wishes to stay for his last year of his contract and fight for a spot like Aleer.

Everyone has their price though I guess and Swans might choose to push him as well if they need list spots or currency for Key Backs ect

At the end of this trade draft period, a fair bit of dead wood would have been moved on, it’s great that we are likely to get 4 draft picks for Darling, Rotham and Barrass.
Puts us in a very good draft position and I’m positive we are going to pick up some very good footballers, I’m genuinely excited about the year ahead.
It’s a bit like Xmas though, we all know that we aren’t going to get everything on our wish lists, and all the wish lists are different.
I like the way Pyke rolls, and I’m just going to have a bit of faith, that some great choices will be made.

It will be interesting to see if, given the failure again, the swans want a different look next year. Parker won't play mid again. Mills will. The big question will be whether they keep going with Adams. I can see them prioritising Sheldrick over someone they could've desperately used on GF day, yet didn't include.

Thes best I'll offer for Dev is a fourth round pick. Don't care if its this year or next.

Sure I can see Dev fulfilling a role for us but end of the day, we're doing Brisbane the favours, not the other way around.

It's also be inclined to say 'no thanks' if we get Graham and/or Garcia.

Let's remember the Cats got rewarded PICK 7 as an incentive for a salary dump.
