For our list the only glaring weakness is our smaller backman

We really lack young quick backman that can defend one on one and have good agility

Sam Petrevski
Alex Witherden
Luke Foley
Tom Cole
These 4 including Tom Cole i dont think will be on the list next year

Then add in
Jack Williams
Connor West
Greg Clark
Luke Edwards

That's potentially 8 of the list next year

Next year would like to see Simpson changes things up a bit

Callum Jamieson start using him as a key backman like Harry Edwards
Callum has impressed me when used there he is a lot quicker than Harry has good agility
and turning circle for a big boy with a good leap.

Look at playing Petch as a halfback

Play McGovern forward most of the season
That gives Edwards and Jamieson time in the back half
Cole and Jwilliams will definitely be on the list next year .

Williams is still 18 and showed a lot for a rookie tall in the worst wafl team ever

Cole is a good defender who we really missed this year .

With Steely Green gone, I'm not too fussed about who we pick ib the RD but although I wouldn't have picked him in the top 30 I'd give Mitch Szybkowski a shot if Norf don't take him at #1.

I cant believe Szybkowski was not picked.

Early in the year he was touted as a late 1st rounder.

Did he go camping or something?

If we rookied him this draft is insane for us.

Its Gilbey, Broadbent or Szybkowski for our 1st rookie spot for mine.

Gilbey for me . We have added 3 mids 1 Ruck 1 small mid/Forward adding a quick HBF would balance our draft out nicely .

Edit - forgot Dewar as a small forward and Baker outside mid .

Going to be exciting watching the beagles next year

Congrats BOND 007 done an absolutely fantastic job.

Gilbey, Cleaver, Winder - 3 goes into 2 who are you picking?
Have seen this fapping over players that slipped to the rookie draft in previous years, only for the player to not get picked up at all.

Lets be real, Gilbey and Cleaver slipped for a reason.
Rather take another 12 month punt on Winder to see if he can keep improving on the midfield form he showed in the WAFL in late 2022, than on a kid not in the top 60+ prospects of a shallow draft.

One of Gilbey or Weaver fine. Not both.

Wonder what Wheatley and the other w***er Barret have go to say after declaring it was a mistake for WC to not be really active during the trade period.
Pair of Rex Hunts!
The problem with most of the media is they don't know jack about the draft hence make ridiculous comments about teams that don't wheel and deal in trade period. It's honestly pathetic the analysis but easily ignored.

But the honours have to go to Sydney for mine.
At Pick 16 they triggered 2x father son picks.... then traded the pick... that's how you do it!! GWS should have done it with pick1.

Sydney's trolling didn't stop there. They took Vickery, a Hawthorn academy player, with a pick they couldn't match on that Sydney obtained (drum roll please) from Hawthorn.

Gilbey and Cleaver - double down

Different half backs. Gilbey more the ball distributor half back and Cleaver the hard nut lock down.

I’d want insights into the medical on Gilbey. It was a barstard of a leg brake.

I’m not a Winder fan. Had his chance and didn’t work hard enough. Supposedly putting in the hard yards now but where has that been?

Since we took Barnett, we’re less likely to take Broadbent.

I don’t want Narkle. I’d rather give our new mids a go (I include this and last year’s haul).

There are going to be some nervous players who are out of contract this year. Keys recently posted about 15 or so who’s contract is up.

The likes of Petruccelle Rotham Waterman Witherden SPS etc better start delivering. By this time next year, I believe over half our list will have been drafted in the last 3 years

Cole's been injured and was in really good form before that - he's that one who can defend small and has that agility but also looks to take the game on. Definite stayer (and contracted for a few years) unless he doesn't bounce back at all). Contracts aside reckon Rotham will be out of favour way before Cole will.

Williams is a really promising KPF who has shown all the right signs in a terrible team but physically needs another few years before being AFL comfortable and I reckon the club will give him that.

In this rookie draft I'd rather just go Gilbey or Cleaver as best available options but moving into next year I reckon I'd like a KPF and a KPD as well as another bite at the cherry for a top line mid ideally.

Darling and McGovern will be gone by our next proper challenge you'd think, so it's just Allen/Williams as true tall forwards and Barrass/Edwards as true tall backs (Bazzo also but time will tell if he's someone you put on your Tom Hawkins types or if he's more of a Lever who you want to annihilate their most mediocre tall). Sounds like we'll potentially have Curtin as an option there next year

I doubt Gilbey and Cleaver will both be available to us at both of our picks.

I would be choosing Gilbey over Cleaver with our first and then just see what is available with our second. If there isn't much then Winder would be a decent option imo. Shouldn't be redrafting Trew.

That contract time may save him keys but he has stagnated as a player and 26/27 we should expecting more from him.
He's another that needs a big preseason

He had probably a career best season in 2021, then missed all of this year with injury.

Bit harsh to call that stagnating.

How much longer can Wstetman be debated?
