I'd be keen on Broadbent in the rookie draft. Reasoning being:

1. Neither Bailey Williams or Cal Jamieson are going to be no. 1 rucks in the future and at least one of them needs to be cut at the end of this year;
2. Talls take longer to develop so make sense for the rookie list;
3. we are running out of time to find a number 1 ruck for post Nic Nat; and as a result
3. We increase our chances of getting a number 1 ruck out of this draft with Barnett and Broadbent

I believe there will be some very good ruck options in next years draft and also think we will be in the mix for taking Tim English when he comes out of contract to cover the number 1 ruck.

I don't rate English as a ruck, and he's going to cost a bomb on top of that.

If they are the two best talents - fair enough.

But the fact we have already seen the close up and are looking to downgrade both - seems a stretch.

Pick the one you think is the best and bring someone else new in who might surprise you.

Yeah. I thought that was strange too. He doesn’t usually show his hand like that. And then Duff signed off by saying something to the effect of, “Good luck today.” I wouldn’t have thought Pieman would need luck if we are just re-drafting those guys. Or maybe I miss heard that part…

Suprised regarding Trew if rookied as our midfield stocks are looking pretty good now. Was Keen to retain Winder though as he showed a fair bit at the end of the season and can play forward as well

Slightly disappointing if we re rookie Trew. Really hope the club is confident on his body as it will be a waste if he just sits on the injury list next year
