We're considering Coby Burgiel with one of our second rounders according to The West.

I would certainly hope that we would have him in the mix, kids a class act and much underrated.
He has already shown that he can play well on three lines: Half back, Half Forward and Midfield, kids a goal kicker with very good foot skills also very quick.

I would be thrilled if he was in an eagles jumper next year.

Charlie McCormick has WCE taking

8 - Jhye Clark
12 - Elijah Hewett
20 - Hustwaite
26- Darcy Jones

No talls , so won't happen but not bad ....

Tsatas making it through to 8 getting more likely? And yes I know this is just some random on twitter.

"As mentioned, Burgiel’s cleanliness in gathering possession is a real asset of his game, able to collect the ball both in the air AND OFF THE DECK with one hand at speed, allowing him to hold off on making his runs until the last possible second. It is a weapon at stoppages no doubt, but around the ground, in open play, is arguably when Burgiel uses it most."

Take him. Ground ball winners we are in desperate need of.

Should Elijah Taylor be given another chance in a similar fashion to that of Tyson Stengle?

So as I see it, most of us would be reasonably happy if we took two of McKenzie, Humphrey, Ginbey, Hewitt, Phillipou or Allen with our first two picks......so watch us take two names we have never heard of mentioned in the top 20 calculations!!!

Personally I'd be happy if we don't take Hewitt as I see him as a player who might not have a heap of improvement, a bit like Sheed or Masten.

Hustwaite uses the ball really well particularly in the 18s games I watched. But yes would agree that his agility isn’t great needs to grow not his body a bit more.

I haven’t seen enough of Allan to be honest to know if he shirks the contest or not.
I rate Hustwaite really high for agility, he slips out of tight spaces like Pendles and is a beautiful user.
Below is Kevin Sheahans rating.
Weapon: Composure and precise left foot.

To me he looks goofy, probably for his height. But when he gets the ball he's super talented.

Hypothetical

Phillipou, Ginbey, Humphrey and Clark are gone in that order

Bulldogs are keen on Tsatas and offer us 11 and 21 for 8 and 26

Assuming we have no interest in Mackenzie for whatever reason, do we make that trade knowing that we’d then be able to take two of Allan, Hewett, Busslinger or Hollands (depending on who Carlton take)

We then have 21 instead of 26

Do we do that trade?

No IMO
I’d rather take one of Tsatas or Mackenzie then move up a couple of spots in the 20’s

In my opinion no, moving down from 8 is worth more than the 26 to 21 swap. Throw in a swap of Brisbanes 2023 2nd for Ports 2023 3rd and you'd have me thinking. The trade would end up something like 8, 26 and 45 for 11, 21 and 35. On Suma Magics pick swap thing we lose out by 100 points on the 8 and 26 for 11 and 21 trade, but win my suggested trade by a bit.

Rumours of Poo to Essendon and Gilbey to GC.
Some suggestions that Geelong into Tsatas and Hawks have a boner for McKenzie.

That leaves Buss, Clark, Humphrey, Hollands, Jefferson, Allan and Hewett for our two picks.

Humphrey would be my pick at 8 hands down, with likely Allan or Hewett available at 12 (predicting next 3 would be Clark, Busslinger & Hollands).
Clark paired with Allan/Hollands/Hewett for me.

Only if the Bulldogs come in peace.

There’s so many permutations of players atm. It definitely makes this draft exciting.
I’m hoping to see a good pairing of midfielders who can learn and work together for years to come. With complimenting skills.
So either a Clarke or Ginbey but not both.
A Tsatas or Hollands but not both.
That type of thing.
Mackenzie and Hewett probably work with any.

Now Poo is looking off the table I’m hoping we go for Mackenzie or Tsatas if he slides. With Ginbey at 13 if available. If not Hewett.

Who says no

Think the below is achievable and would be a very nice draft:

Clark/Ginbey
Hewett
Allan or more likely Keeler
Burgiel

Think we can afford to take the risk on Keeler at 20 with who we’re picking at the other three picks.

Small forward in dewar and slider maybe D’Aloia at our very late pick.

Fair point. Clark's only knock is his size.

But gee, at least he's a genuine top end pure midfielder, unlike Gumby who's just started playing midfield last week and Rohan will probably peg him to play lockdown defender on Charlie Cameron.

Inb4 someone points out Ginbey was AA mid. I get that, but he averaged like 21 disposals and his his team (WA) was awful.

Ginbey selection can be offset with Hewett at 13 at least.

Is it?

Personally I couldn't give 2 shits if this one incident is his supposed 'questionable' character. Kids do dumb s**t in school.

If he's on drugs/sexually assaulting girls on a regular basis then that's an entirely different story altogether.

Character can't be that questionable if he was chosen to be WA state captain.
Was also co captain for the Australian side that played Pies VFL team.

If Ginbey is gone at 9, pull the trigger on Allan. Then spit 13 with who wants it like melb/Syd or giants ect and possibly still get one of Hewett/buss/George ect in the teens plus another pick in the 20s or f2 or something
