Yes I do.

He is more physical than Witho, Chesser hasnt even played yet.

He has overtaken Rotham. Nelson? Come on mate.

Duggan is better. Cole marginally.
We don't need 10 back pockets/flankers in the team. I'd search for 2 elite rebounders and settle for 1 spot for a development position (eg Chessers first 10 games)
Obviously every player has different strengths and weaknesses so its about choosing the better player in the end. Obviously Foley isn't useless otherwise we wouldn't play him, it's just an area we have decent depth in and he doesn't project to be anything more than Nelson quality.

If the criteria for keeping players is "Will they be club legends?", we may as well delist 95% of the team. Depth is good.

Jack Redden isn't going to go down as one of our best ever, but we'd be a worse team if we'd cut him in the past.
I'm a fan of Redden and don't get all the hate for him. Has done well being played out of position on a wing and doing the team thing week in week out. To add to that he is a best 22 player and has been for a decade at AFL level.

I'm talking about guys at the level of McGinnity, Ainsworth, Brennan, Brayshaw. All were kept on as depth and are decent WAFL players but were never going to progress to being more than that at AFL level. To McGinnity's credit he managed to find a niche and play 100 odd games in an average team.

Foley may manage that kind of career or better, maybe not. But in a rebuilding period we need to be auditioning as many players as possible which means a few harsh calls for list positions.

How do we give Black 1 year when he's not on our list.
He's on the supplimentary covid listed 6 month contract or whatever. Rookie list for a year ath the end of the season. He's good and would be an upgrade on O'neill, West, Edwards for a few years but at age 29 wont get that opportunity. Plus i'd only want to pick him up if we have unnaturally large list cleanout- mainly to be around to set the standards.

He's not gonna be a Sheppard or Hurn, but he's no Brayshaw, Ainsworth, etc. He's shown in a fair bit in his last few games. Enough to keep him on for a bit longer, at least. Personally, I rate him over Rotham and Nelson.

The only players i would extend now or early next year are Hough & Chesser. McGovern & Cripps depending on how their bodies are, should be given a 2 yr extension then drip fed 1 yr until retirement.
I'd say that we have seen enough of Petruccelle & Waterman to know they will only be bit part players and I would be open to trading either or both. Williams & Bazzo probably get another year each to see what they have but i'm not convinced either will make it at this point.
How the hell can you even judge Williams & Bazzo?. First year players who have played 1 senior WAFL game between them. Stupid Call

Exactly why you give them until the end of 2024 to see if they can cut the mustard? For the record I liked them both last year and was happy we picked them up. All you need to see in the first year or two are glimpses of what a player can do, but all recruits obviously need to improve. Both project to be average-good at best rather than out and out superstars.

IMO Bazzo can be real good as a 3rd tall defender, can read the play and is tidy. Is more likely to make the grade than Williams but needs to put on size and get playing games of course. The concerns are about his ability to play a key position against the big bodies at AFL level.

Williams is a good size already, pace is a worry though and just doesn't have enough tricks to be dominant as a key forward. I think he will be better suited to playing deep forward similar to the Q-stick.

Bruhn with the 22 disposals, 11 contested, 5 clearances, 4 tackles, 3 score involvements from 71% TOG against the premiers.

I don't need to tell you that obviously eclipses anything Yeo, Shuey and Kelly were able to produce against the Swans.

We dont have 10 back pockets / flankers. And handling small forwards isnt our strong point.

Nelson is a rfa this season. I dont see him with us next season. Hurn retires. Who's left to stand the small ellusive types? Cole and ??? Please tell us which ofthis extensive list of back pockets can play on the quick smalls!

There will be a fair few others going before Foley.

If anything we need to find someone who can handle opposition small forwards.

^ That's Hough for me old mate.

Very zippy and athletic player. Think he does/did quite well on oppo smalls.

You mean Hough the future gun midfielder taking us to the promised land?

The kid is quick and can tackle. Just hoping he doesnt spend his career in defense.

I rate him as a player, I just don't think he's of any real use to West Coast.

Because we are over run with rucks who can handle Gawn and McDonald?

We are scrapping the bottom of a very shallow barrel right now. And you see no use getting a decent ruck who's 25 years old who hasnt peaked and continues to improve?

The Daniel Chick one seemed spot on.

Other than that there's occasionally a bit of inside news that is accurate, no doubting that. Someone's always a friend of friend that hears something. I've had a few myself, Perths a small town.

Haven't heard the Ryan Daniels one, what was his account?

I'm disputing that an actual club "insider" is posting on here. Haven't seen any proof personally other than extremely vague references that anyone with a keen interest could spurt out

Like I said, happy to be proved wrong about that
Daniels posted under "nameless"

Nic Nat has a few years left in him easy. Why buy a ruck to play 40% of a game

Redden probably needs to go in the same vein that Priddis and Mitchell needed to. It's not a reflection of poor performance but a new direction needed. He's a 100 gamer (will be a career 250 gamer soon) and premiership player and his contribution shouldn't be downplayed.

If Shuey retires then I see Redden staying on 1 more year. The other mids cant stay on the park.

Would love Gaff to be moved on, even for not much. Naish has proven we can replace Gaff and improve without using a top pick. Just dont see who would take him and that salary.

2 more years is generous. And maybe Nic should be rucking 30% of a game and the remainder forward.

Its a young mans game and Nics knees arent getting any better.
He's only 208 games in. 2 years off with knees sure, that just means 2 years less wear and teat.
Shown no signs of slowing down at all and was All Australian and club champion last year? I think he's the kind of guy who will play easily until mid 30's barring any more serious injuries.

Think he should be moved on or retire, no point of him playing on if we are not in flag contention, rather get games into our next ruckman then wasting a few more years into an oldie

Shown no signs of slowing down? The guy hasn't jumped for a mark for 2 years and barely gets off the geound at ruck contests these days. He's nowhere near as fast as he used to be either. He's obviously in physical decline.
