You’ve known the play for two years already, yet on your rule he would have only gone at the end of last year?

I’m not arguing he shouldn’t go. I’m saying having a blanket inflexible rule is a stupid idea.
Who said anything about being inflexible? Win a flag, you have until the flag window closes which is roughly 3 years. Still in the flag window, we'll keep you on. The trouble with Scott, Longmire etc - you don't have a crystal ball so if it appears the flag window has finished you cut them. Some good coaches are going to get cut. No one ever said the percentage play has 100% success.

Just watched East Perth vs Subi on streaming - what a heart- breaking 1pt loss in the very last second!
Again, very impressed with Subik Kuek - so much to work with, fast, athletic, agile and deadly accurate in front of goal. Had a bagful again today. Recruit him Eagles, don't stuff it up in the draft.
Is he in our NGA?

He played 19 out of 22 games last year, having won the club’s Best Emerging Talent the previous year.

He’s been out of form all year but let’s not pretend he’s a scrub lucky to be on a list.

Had a pretty scrubby end to last year + performance of this year leads me to believe he’s ok when things are going ok. When pressure is on he crumbles.

The flip side of that thought is it is hard to unequivocally judge our defenders at the moment, and since mid 2021, purely cos of lack of upfield pressure.

In short, I’m not convinced on Rotham. Depending of any club imposed Hip-E suspension he needs to show a significant leap forward for the remaining games before i put him to one side.

Yeah, saw him last year play against the WA side for East Perth. Looked very very good. Glad to see he's gone on with it at league level.
Could be a good mid season pick, if we get a LTI.

Jordyn Baker best on ground for EP, 25 disposals and 2 goals. Let's hope his paperwork is in.

Tholstrup just getting better and better, kicked 5.2 today. Pick 1 next year.

Baker is a WCE NGA so will be good that he shows a bit but not too much ..

Elijah Hewett with 13 disposals at senior level. He seems to be doing ok at senior level which is great for a 17 year old. Tom Scully a 204cm key forward at West Adelaide u18s kicked 4.1 to bring him to 37 goals 9 behinds in the first 7 games. So there's some talent around.

Nisbett just strongly implied that Nelson will be delisted at the end of the year, given he’s out of contract.

“Trevor Nisbett says “I think so” when asked whether the players who went to the hip-e club have compromised their futures at the club.”
They may have had limited (very limited) value but ffs Nisbett needs to stop commenting on list management on the radio.

Just erodes any potential value every time

Watched the swans Claremont game, hoping it was just a down game but wasn’t overly impressed with Hewitt.
I understand he’s only a pup but 13 disposals and missed a fair few targets.

Reminds me a lot of Powell Pepper.
I would not be spending a top 4 draft pick on him unless his disposal efficiency improves

Hewitt projecting between 3 and slidding to 10ish.

Similar range as D'Aloia the SA u18 captain. Decent Plan B from pick 6 > 10?

Two very capable inside extractors. D'Aloia reads like an Eagles recruit, low ager, good character etc. He's a big solid unit.

Others in that 6 to 10 range. Kobe Ryan another who suits our needs. Broadbent, Tsatas, Hollands.

Imagine if Hawthorn had that rule in the late 2000s.
I meant for us, a WA team. Who knows how much the travel takes out of the guys. We need to be pretty much the best side in the league and play our best GF to have a chance.

So saying that weve been bloody successful.

But why not try for longer stretches of sustained success

Yeah we are really going to hoodwink the other clubs into thinking these couple of below average players are worth top ten picks … maybe the hundred and tens

100% agree. We should not be touching any player who doesn't have sound foot and hand skills. Powell Pepper gets a lot of ball but he's shit because his disposal is poor. Every time a player with poor disposal gets the ball there is an opportunity cost.

Kobe Ryan, very talented player. But he's small and slight, so I wouldn't use our first on him. If he was there around 19 I'd definitely look at him there.
If he had more size, he'd definitely be top 3. I just worry what role at AFL he plays, projects as a small skillfull forward. Would take him years to develop the body ready for midfield.

Surprised Hewett kicking wasn't great, he normally very good. Last year he looked very Rolls-Royce in the midfield. Hopefully he has a big game soon.

Even still, Nizzy should STFU about it. It's not his job, an there's nothing worse than clubs who talk tough on fringe player and use them as an example but when a gun transgresses, they bend the rules.
