I haven’t posted on here for a while. I assumed they folded the club in august but turns out it’s still around. Bizarre.

Anyway, my thoughts this year:
- any more than 49 for SPS is unacceptable
- if we give up a second rounder of any variety for SPP then we will regret it.

Taking three picks in the first two rounds should be the priority.

I think if you had to do SPP and SPS’ different skill/strength ratings for a video game, one would get like 90 and the other one 10, in every single category.

Like a piece of paper, we can fold in half up to 7 times before its no longer possible to fold again.
Let the good fold times continue.

If they're giving up Young and Sweet then they must be bringing in another established ruck. Obviously English and Darcy are their future combo - but surely right now they need more than a 35yo Martin as a stop-gap...
What the dogs have done is left lots of list spots open so they can take lots of picks for Darcy points matching .
Unfortunately this has left all these guys out of contract and other teams are swooping.

I'm not unhappy about SPP were the price right. However as Chris_6678 said, it starts to make stuff like the West re-signing look a little less sensible if we bring in another established mid with similar characteristics.

But, this is all based on Tom Morris knowing things. So, that's a fool's errand if ever there was one.

BIG no to SPP.

Where does that leave us developing West, Trew & Edwards? + our first rounder ( Hopefully a mid).

So we shouldn't recruit anymore mids? I don't get your thoughts here.

Didn't the same journo also say we were trading Yeo for Cripps?

Think that was Tom Browne, who makes Tom Morris look like Ryan Daniels.

We are trying to get SPS to go alongside the starters in Sheed, Yeo, Kelly, Shuey, Gaff & Redden + developing players in West, Trew, O'Neil, Trew & Edwards. Then we have some young players to be drafted this year.

I think there's room for both and more. We need to plan for injuries and recruit for that age bracket.

Yeo missed half a season and Shuey missed most of it, Sheed and Gaff should be predominantly outside players. Redden is 32 next year. SPS and SPP are both in the perfect age bracket for for us as they should both almost be hitting their straps, we have no mids that age. Extra competition can only be a good thing as well, and those younger developing guys should be able to force their way into the side in the next year or 2 regardless if they're worth persevering with as Shuey, Redden and Gaff start to slow down.
