Looks like Collingwood are the club to take advantage of Fold Coast being a basket case at the trade table this year.

22, 46 and 52 for a Future 2nd and Future 3rd by the looks.

So basically a super early second rounder plus 2 third rounders for a future second and future third.

Wouldn't have minded that 22. Would've offered Future 3rd plus our 35 for it.

We still can. Off the Pies.

So Pies traded in 22? Which will be used on Daicos!

Normally yes but this kid can play on any flank. He's not your normal, lumbering 200cm ruck prospect. I would be very surprised if it took him4-5 years to play meaningful game time. Again I point to Cox at Essendon as a recent example.

The kids background is obviously important and how he interviews. Eagles are pretty good at keeping interstate kids. And playing and being coached by Nic? Who better to learn from.

Just on a related note say if we had a serious crack at Jackson atthe Dees. This kid is their academy prospecct they now cant bid on will rule changes so will lose him. Quite a handy trade piece for Jackson I would suggest.

Cox is 199cm and was 82 kg's when drafted.
Andrew is 200cm+ and 70kg's.

We're talking 2-3 years to get to the point of where Nic Cox was at when drafted. We're talking about a guy who is skinnier than Tony Notte when he got drafted.

Fair point. I wonder if he’s getting SPS and SPP confused.

It seems the obvious conclusion....

But, one of them does play for a Victorian club so the media might actually know who he is (however, if we did pick up both I can't wait for SPP to be called SPS whilst Ryan and Rioli are getting mixed up in the next play etc etc. And if Brander stays along with Rotham - watch out!).

First preference for our first pick is MJ. If MJ had Erasmus' athleticism he'd be going top 2 in the draft.

We're looking at bulding the next generation. MJ could well be the cake itself, not some side dish, condiment or icing. Will be able to build our next generation midfield around him.

If we draft Mac Andrew I will be ******* pissed. Sure on pure talent he's number 3-5 in the draft but he's 6 preseasons away from being able to take the mantle as number 1 ruck. So people know, thats 2027. Anyone here think Nic can handle another 5 years? Didn't think so.

I've said it before but I just feel Sinn is a West Coast type pick with run, carry and kicking from defence already being identified as needing to be fixed. I wouldn't draft him inside the top 25 but I know WCE have had at least 4 conversations with Sinn and his family.

As far as im concerned there isn't a tall in this draft worth taking in the top 20 picks outside of Darcy and TBH darcy has been kept quiet by some much smaller defenders.

If we ended up with a pick around 20 and he was available i'd take JVR as a tall. Otherwise looking more likely Bazzo at 29 or 35 and im very happy.

Players i specifically want us to avoid drafting.
1. Williams
2. Andrew
3. Gibcus
4. Draper
5. Rachele
6. Wanganeen-Milera
7. Sonsie
What's wrong with Draper and W-M? Would be great selections if MJ isn't there.

Add Sinn to your list? He and Amiss are very West Coast picks and scaring me, that we might take one.
How do you know of the Sinn interest from the club?

Can't get much earlier in the 2nd than 22.

Collingwood would have to finish bottom 3, THEN there's the FA compensation next year which could push it back further.

It's basically a free swing for Collingwood. Won't cost them a cent doing this trade.
They are basically getting daicos, lipinski and trading out of this draft .

All their eggs in 1 basket .

A bit like we did with Kelly .

If we somehow landed SPS and SPP and kept our first 2 picks that would be a win for mine.

SPP is truely interesting on several fronts.

He has been in trouble off field and not in a good way either. Alcohol and altercations with ladies. Questions about his associates in WA. We have not taken many risks on bad boys since Cousins, this would be a shift in policy. But as the saying goes 'nice guys finish 2nd....or last'

So that may also indicate Port are willing to move him on cheap notto mention salary cap issues across the league.

I would not be happy with parting with 35 for him.

Brander for SPS and 49 for SPP I could.

Schofield ex Port coach would be have to be supporting this if true.

If we trade for Sweet then future 3rd.

Go to draft still with 10, 29 and 35. 65 drops to 50 something.

Diacos is bid at 3 on draft night. They dont need as many points. Future 2nd plus 49 and 65.

We use 10, 22, 29 and 35.

Or 35 , 49 and 65 are more points than 22.

We use 10, 22 and 29.

Daicos already signed 4 year contract with Pies. They publicly stated they're committed to matching bid at any point in draft.
If North have any campaigner in them at all, they will bid at #1 purely to extract as much out of Collingwood as possible.
