Hawks have got us in a compromised position as Brander could get there for free if the Hawks wanted to play hard ball. Is their early third rounder about the best we can hope for?

If we were turning Brander into Sheldrick, would people take that and run? Seems like two polar opposites of players.
Get it done

I’d happily take that at this stage. Feels like a bit of a fire sale for Brander.

Third round pick upgrade and SPS for Brander, effectively.

That early third might actually find its way to Port for SPP, which would be our third and Brander for SPS and SPP. Probably about right, although I too am in the camp of retaining Brander as he strikes me as a slow burn.

I can't imagine any scenario where Brander stays, after Nesbitt's radio comments and what Daniels initially reported.

We can either get thrown a bone for him (hopefully), or he's walking and joining another club as a DFA.

Would be stoked if he stayed, but i think that bridge is well and truly burnt.

But the Hawks don't have a 2021 3rd rounder...

Unless they get one in for Ceglar etc.

Hawthorn have 5,21,24,59,65

Best we could hope for is 24 for either 29 or preferably 35

Would be happy to offload 35 and Brander for 24. Taking 35 off the table as trade collateral would be good. Blues and Port won't come for what second rounders we have left, so they can fight over the scraps.

I'd be ecstatic with Brander + 29 for 24.

I just can't see it happening though. We seem to have conceded to the market that Brander has limited-to-no value.

I still see potential in brander .

If we can somehow afford SPP we could give brander a better offer than another club would offer a delisted free agent

2 years at low low wage with incentives to get the most out of him self like 15+ games
Or top 15 finish in the BnF

Bad strategy to reinforce failure (Brander) . SPP failed under finals pressure. Depth at best.

Or Josh Sinn.

I'm not against the idea. We have a lot of HBFs, but the only good ones are old, and none of them are natural line-breaking options. I look at Lachie Ash at GWS, and I reckon we could use one of those. Josh Sinn is that type.

As someone who has watched A LOT of Sinn, I’m not sure why some of our fans are so against taking him. He’s not my first choice but his skill set is what our list lacks, also he could definitely move into the middle IMO

Anyone else notice the PSD starting to be popular again?

All guess work below of course but:
Pick 1 - North gets Coleman Jones for free.
Pick 2 - can see Collingwood getting Krueger since they have sweet f all bargaining chips
Pick 3 - Gold Coast - pass since they don't have list spots
Pick 4 - Adelaide - no idea so probably pass
Pick 5 - Brander to Hawks?
Pick 6 - If Hawks pass, Brander to the baggers

I want St Kilda to draft Sinn purely for the excellent pun potential

I just hope Sinn has a younger sibling coming through, so he can then get the nickname "Original"

SPP failed under finals pressure. Depth at best.

He was the medi-sub in both finals

15% TOG vs Geelong - kicked 2 goals from 6 disposals

10% TOG vs Bulldogs - 6 disposals, no goals

Both games effectively over when he came on so there’s not much to go on to say that he failed under finals pressure

But yes, he along with SPS would be depth which is (a) something we desperately need and (b) why we shouldn’t be offering too much for him in a trade should it eventuate
