Cripps would be a gamble, he looked off the boil all year but who knows how much we can read into 2020 - plus he is their captain - I kinda doubt he bails.

Would be good Judd-vengeance I guess haha

Him and Fyfe would actually be a hell of a partnership...could even lead them to the unthinkable. 🤢
Depends how long Fyfe’s body holds out. Reckon he’ll finish his career as a forward which makes him much less threatening overall. Still a tough match up for defenders, but less likely to be a matchwinner if he’s kept away from stoppages.

What rumours?

Some BODE just posted on the trades board that Geelong Radio lol has said that Geelong have come to an agreement with WC to trade a future second for Brander.

So you would have to question the creditability of said rumour.

Yep, our trade for TK has robbed us of top-end currency not just this year, but next year and potentially 2022.

I still think it was worth it, but it's pretty lazy journalism not taking that into account.

Basically if we get Cripps it would be through a Brad Crouch style public negotiation (except unlike St Kilda we would be public enemy #1) - i.e. we aren't trading for him (or, in actuality can't) so it is compo or nothing. That said, I can't see us having the $ to offer anyway.
Exactly how does the TK trade have any impact at all on 2021/22 drafts?

I think you're OTT in terms of the cost of the TK trade.

We will have plenty of money with JK/Hurn retiring and Redden OOC.

It is about whether Carlton would be happy with the compo pick.

It was always on the cards, if Brander does leave. I’m sure he considers himself a key forward first and foremost but we just don’t have the space for him.

would be pretty funny if he kicks his first goal in AFL footy for another team 3.5 years after being drafted

Doubt its true, but man I'd be pissed. I don't even care about losing brandner but if you gave him to Geelong of all teams that cheap.. Bah

Kids these days........Jed Anderson or GTFO.
FTFY, champ

Cripps is a very good footballer, but I think our list is in a position where we really need to have a good raft of quality picks next year rather than cashing them all in on a player with maybe 5 good years of footy left and will stretch our cap, even with the old outgoing stars in Kennedy and Hurn.
With a fit midfield of Yeo, Shuey, Kelly, Sheed and potential for the likes of Rioli, Ryan and Duggan running through there in 2022, having another highly paid mid star might be shoehorning mids to the forward flanks and throwing out team balance.

In summary- I wouldnt kick him out of bed for farting but Im not that keen to chase Cripps hard next year.

How good would we be with Cripps in the midfield..

Naitanui Kelly Cripps Yeo Shuey Gaff Sheed

Kicking to Darling Allen Ryan Rioli .. Drool

Best midfield in the league.

Only thing we lack is a genuine pacy midfielder/wingman to break the lines.

Got some intel that Chance Bateman is set to leave WCE and join perth footy club at some coaching capacity
