good: Well done jack watts, he is going to be alright!!

Fugly: Getting excited to watch the dees in a prime time game and to see that insipid shit. I try and be optimistic but do we still have to put up with watching our team be uncompetive and basically not trying!! FYI i can't see any game plan from bailey................. I am one frustrated fan.

Good: Trengove, showed heart and class and never stopped trying. Watts in the first half looked like he was up for the contest.

Bad: A lack of effort across the entire side. Not running to man up. Not running to create space and options. Avoiding contests. The umpiring.

Fugly: Brad Green's game. He does not deserve a spot in the team next week. Same goes for:- Jurrah, Sylvia, Davey, Dunn, Wonna, Morton.

We should bring in half of the scorpions. If Blease and Petterd are not picked next week our selectors should be put up against the wall and shot.

Good: Jack Watts gave it a crack for once in his life and Trennas is a gun.

Bad: How flipping soft we are, our lack of game plan (Bailey), our skills, how we react under any pressure, our leadership on field, our captain, how our experienced players cant stand up, how disgustinly bad our inside 50 stats and clearances were tonight.

Ugly: Melbourne FC

watching the game tonight I never want Melbourne to be on prime time again -will probably regret this later.

The good:

  • Jack Watts
  • We already have 35,000 members money, there will be no more after tonight
The Bad

  • Our constant ambition to put another player under pressure from a handball (we do it so well it could be under the good)
  • Anyone outside of WC/Melb who had an interest in the game turned off at quarter time to watch something of more substance..perhaps the royal wedding.
The Fugly

  • We have no accountability, don't man up and allowed WC to walk around, over & through us
  • The amount of times we kicked the ball out of bounds - disgraceful skills on display all night
  • We don't tackle enough
  • We bothered to step off the plane in Perth
  • Our game plan, executed how we do is nothing short of laughable
  • Trying to convince non-Melbourne supporters to watch any of our other games this season..

Good: we already sucked 35,000 members in this year!

Bad: still only 35,000 memberships at the end of the year.

Ugly: 25,000 members next year based on performances like tonight.
With the new tv deal, I doubt we will ever be on a ch7 game next year = zero interest from non Melbourne watchers..

Good: Watts showing something. Col Garland was solid but could only do so much.

The bad: Natanui winning the first clearance of every 1/4!, handballing to stationary team-mates who immediatly get tackles, WC's ease of clearing out of back 50, **** i'm done.

The fugly: looking forward to a game all day, and it being over by 9:10pm, never led, never had good consistant passages of play.

Good: Bartram ( Can hold his head up), Garland, Trengove, Watts, Maybe Jurrah, Martin ok. Wonna thrown in the middle. Final siren.

Bad: Cale Morton ( Sorry, but he is not going to make it. He has the intensity of a heavy sneeze)
Davey ( Thank god he wasn't made captain. MIA again)
Our ruck stocks (We were seriously exposed for class. Spoonfed their onballers. Eventhough ours tried hard).
Quartermaine ( Why dont you just ring the AFL yourself and tell them to look at the Tapscott bump)
Uncontested marks. Embarrasing!

Fugly: Umpiring. Absolute amateur hour. Nuff said.
Teamwork. No blocks, shepperds, talk, or general 1%'s.
Gameplan. Next please.

While i'm not the best at a structured g,b & f. I'm dismayed to see people write stupid shit like "i will stop following the club". (though i wonder if they are just pathetic trolls) I show my colours wherever i go, no game is worth quitting this great club. I sat and watched this game at the peacock hotel and listened to some stupid punters opinions on why we were losing.

I thought Watts, Bartram Trengove were fantastic. gameplan was up shitcreek. Midfield was just weak, every centre bounce was just a lesson in how to not get a clearance. even when jamar got the tap we never seemed to get first hands to it.

the fugly was just watching every mark seem to be a wc player. it was just hard to watch

watched the game at the pub tonight, so was only really concentrating for the first quarter (cute vietnamese girl took my attention after that - by my writting this now you can assume i did not take her home/ however i did snog her against the stairs. she had to go due to her friend throwing up on the bouncer. but dw folks. i got a number).

good:
watts took some solid marks
trengove was in everything
bail looked good, lots of run. got caught a couple of times tho

bad:
jurrah no touches in the first half that i saw, defs non in the first quarter
no goals in the first quarter
blown away from the start

ugly:
midfield
gameplan
kick ins
DARLING ALMOST KICKING MORE GOALS THAN OUR TEAM!!!!

horrible game the fact that i saw it coming and that i drank a fair bit made it bearable

poor effort lads

Good: Rivers getting the spoil in a two Eagles on one battle at half forward.

Bad: The other Eagle scooping up the ball and kicking to an an uncovered player inside 50.

Ugly: That Eagle passing to the goalsquare to another unmanned player. A goal consisting of only one Demon in camera shot and 4 Eagles.

Good:

Watts showed some aggression, took a few contested grabs and backed into oncoming traffic on one occasion as well. To be honest, it was really the first time I've seen him show real hunger and desire, rather than that sense of indifference that he normally exudes. Good signs, was also impressed that he tried to lift us when nobody else would in the first quarter.

Trengove was also impressive, he'll be a star for us, and Garland and Jamar were okay as well.

Pass on bad, fugly:

Pretty much everything else, particularly the nonsensical gameplan and the fact that most of our side showed no heart.

Good: Watts, Garland, Jamar, and I'll add Jones thought he had a real crack.
Bad: Green is really struggling but he has enough credits for now. Lack of leadership. Absurd game plan. No Petterd is getting to me.
Ugly: Above all just not being committed enough, very soft and flakey. I don't mind losing as long as they leave everything on the field. At the risk of being too reactionary, that first quarter was coach killingly pathetic. We have not been respected in the competition for a long time, and these displays highlight why. Also fans dissing Jurrah, what else could he have done tonight?

Was at the game so i havent seen the stats so just going on what i saw.

Good
-Watts in general - Got into the right positions (the only one out of our forwards tbh). Took some nice grabs and his disposal was good.
-Bartram - Thought his run was good. seemed to me that he was the only one who did it throughout the game.
-Trengove, got a lot of his ball in the clinches so was probably better than i think but he was the only player who did the real gut running throughout the game.
-Watts in the goal square in the last quarter.

Bad
Centre cleareneces
The eagles supporters around me

Fugly
Our forward structure. I was right behind the goals so i had a good view but can someone who gets to see the games live more tell me if its normal for us to have no one inside 50 when we have a stoppage on our half of the ground?
Goals coast to coast from their kick ins. THey got over the back way to easily and no one (except frawley) pushed back hard enough.

To be honest our whole structure tonight was horrible (last quarter looked a bit better when we actually gave ourselves someone to kick to).

Never been so dissapointed after a dees game ive been to and seeing as we havent won since 2002 thats saying something.

Mortonman, yeah they try and run back into the 50 when rebounding. Often we get stuck in zones and just end up kicking it randomly.

Good:
- Last week i tought Watts might be due for a spell, tonight he made an effort, a strong one. His marking has been noted but i enjoyed the tackling, the pressure he put on embley in the first quarter (who kicked a goal out of his ass). I think some of the boys started looking for him later in the game after a few contested grabs, with jamar double teamed at marking opportunities, Jack stood up. He didn't set the world on fire, but a spark was apparent to all.

- Jones has reframed his game, hard running, improved skills. He'll always be a nuggety little bastard but i think the pressure of midfielders coming through has really made him determined to become more damaging. His skills still need to be polished, but he is improving.

- Trengove: unassuming, effective, hard nosed. It seems enivitable that he will run completely rampant at some stage this year

Bad:
- Skill errors were genuinely embarrasing, ones from Frawley and Trenners were particularly cringeworthy
- The refusal of some of our players to chase concerns me. I suspect that this is why pettard is being given an extended run in the 2's. Tonight Moloney and frawley were offenders

Fugly
- Our complete inability to combat the forward press and pressure is a fundamental flaw in our plan. Queens Birthday looms as a disaster if we can't develop a working plan b
- When everything went to shit, players gave up. Unmarked eagles players did as they pleased. Unacceptable
