Guys, after the game, please let us know your thoughts.

As always, streakers are invited to jump the fence but - depending upon the game itself - 3 x Greg Chappells, bats in hand, could be waiting to impart 'instant justice.'

Be good and constructive.

Go Dees.

Can we just have a Festival (copyright HFF) anyway?

I enjoy them.

Mate, we all enjoy the streakers but sadly word has got out to their community that such antics, whilst appreciated, are dealt with summarily on this Board.

Even so, we invite them to see if they "can get to the middle" like those old days after the second siren when there was no rope.

Good:
- Mitch Clark thank god for Mitch!
- Frawley, Garland, both played well down back, and gave us some alright run out of the back.
- Jonesy, hard at it as always
- Morton, another solid performance.
- Geelong's inaccuracy in front of goal, held back a blowout
- Stevie J's 163 Dream Team points (I know, probably not the place for this, but could get me a win)

Bad:
- Bate, Bail good games last week but weren't really effective today.
- Moloney. Derp, stop making stupid mistakes.
- Zoning, marking up, pressure on their ball carrier; all ordinary.
- Too flat-footed, too slow, too reactive to the opposition.
- Another big loss. I know many of us were expecting bigger, but 46 pts is a big loss.

Ugly
- Disposal. Woeful on so many occasions and really cost us.
- Decision making. (See Disposal)
- Desperately need someone with some pace! Bennell, Davey, Bail, stop being shit and step up!
- Sellar was useless. Shouldn't play next week.

Good

They went down and had a crack and tbh a 43 point loss is not a disaster at least*

Clark - creative, courageous and despite the pressure he is under (from the likes of gimps like Leigh Matthews who should eff off back to 1983) he doesn't play for himself - does some nice team things.

Frawley on Hawkins was a great scalp. Garland also did well and pushed off his opponent well in reading the play, took some good grabs and gave us some good driving kicks.

Not good enough for votes but I think McDonald is going to be a good player for us. Shows conviction, just needs to work on disposal.

No injuries (although some tired bodies I suspect).

Bad

Our layering at the contest, we don't have the right balance yet between players going in and players on the fringe.

Lack of trust between the players of 1 on 1 contests - something Malthouse harped on.

Howe's set shots for goal (although in general I'm happy with his improvement)

Run and spread obviously inadequate whether it be due to fitness or effort or both. Zoning also needs a lot of work.

Moloney lacked discipline.

Our switching in the 1st quarter when we had the wind was inefficient and on a narrow ground only made things harder - a result of us not wanting to kick to our players down field and back them.

Disposal generally not great. Handballs need to be flatter and quicker at times. Not enough players with elite kicking.

Sylvia was flat.

Dissapointed in Bail, Magner and Trengove.

Davey's aerial contests continually make me laugh but his ground level efforts were ok.

Bate sluggish.

Fugly

Once again the 3rd quarter sub ended up with more touches than Sellar. He has no nouse as a forward and is way too slow at ground level. It is obvious they are trying to give him the best possible chance of making an impact but it is getting to the point now where he is being given a ride where other players aren't.

I don't have Stevie J in my supercoach team.

*Having said that Geelong never got out of 3rd gear all day.

good: clark, garland, frawley, jones.

bad: trengove has been missing for a few weeks now, sellar gave absolutely nothing. sylvia plodded along. decision making at times was disgraceful. bombing into our 50 with no real purpose. it's not working. Majority of goals we scored are scrambled through.

fugly: 3rd quarter.

Moloney... if i recall correctly, he is an unrestricted FA at years end, correct?

With Viney incoming and others around, wouldn't be surprised if he really shopped himself around. I'm not saying we should lose him, i'm really on the fence, but there might be a club or two that would be willing to pay him more than we are.

You do know he has been a dees supporter all his life and dreamed of playing for Melbourne right?

Guys, i did not see or hear the match today.

Who played defensively - so to speak - on SJ?

Was it a certain player wearing the number &^%$@?
No outright tag I believe Biff, he was going through the middle.

Good:
- Mitch ****ing Clark; what a fantastic get for us this lad will be.
- Frawley monstered Hawkins
- Morton, Garland, Grimes, Jones, Howe, McDonald were all good.

Bad:
- Moloney, Sylvia, Bate, Bail, Davey; all were a bit lackluster today
- Taking off Tapscott when he was doing a good job; especially when Sellar was spudding it up.

Fugly:
- Our ball use and movement for much of the game
- Our lack of adherence to defensive structures, Geelong racked up the uncontested disposals
- Our lack of 'trust' in teammates as Malthouse put it; FFS if you're going to have two players at a contest at least win the ball!!
- Our lack of forward pressure was really disappointing; Geelong's defence could do whatever they wanted in there.
- Sellar; you didn't even give a contest mate... terrible performance, he looked so much better down back.

GOOD

* Clark - continues to prove people wrong
* Jones - all we ask is consistency, and he is bringing it
* Frawley - biased maybe, but he's the best defender in the AFL
* Garland - tried hard all day
* T McDonald - will be a player. did a great job on a young gun
* Casey - besides a couple of injuries, was a great result

BAD

* The result - although not ugly like last year, we were lucky to lose by just 7 goals today
* Moloney - the guy is the dumbest footballer in the AFL. From B&F to a dud in little over 6 months. Show us something Beamer or p*ss off
* Sylvia - will never make it to that A grade player we need him to
* Possession count - another game where we hand over 100 possessions more to the opponents. If we didn't have Frawley, we would be consistently losing by 100 points

UGLY

* Bail - I like the guy, but he's played 1 good game this year.
* Bate - Thought he turned the corner last couple of weeks, not so by this performance.
* Gysberts/Viney - two suspected broken jaws in the magoos.
* Sellar - stunk up the forward line today. Thought he would at least compete, but once Scarlett went to him, I knew he would be useless. Fingers crossed Martin is back next week.

I also thought that was strange.

Well we are a 143 point better side than last time we went down here... That has to count for something. ;)

Haven't seen the game yet, will do that later, but it sounds as though the usual players played well and the usual players didn't do enough. Yeah, our disposal and such still needs work but we got rolled by the reigning premiers on their home turf by 7 goals. With the current state of our list and where we are at I'll take that... For the moment.

Clark is a star though, as are Frawley and Garland.

Defended Sellars role, not his ability, this week and he well and truly came up short for me. Happy to go with others and see him dropped - hopefully Martin is fit to replace him.
