I've got no issue with Jason Winderlich. It's the suggestion that Atley plays like some sort of Dyson Heppell double roaming around on his own. He's our number one lockdown small defender. He just also happens to be our best rebounder as well.

The number of times they feel the need to say this...I wish I could say it means a lot to beat North Melbourne but to be honest I don't really care. All I care about is that it is 7th vs 8th and whoever wins this goes into the box seat to make finals.
I guess Bummer Thompson was wrong. The number of times they feel the need to say this...

It's incredible isn't it? "I don't care about you". "Did you hear me? I said, I don't care about you!". "Are you listening to me? I said, I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!"
It's like some sort of defensive mechanism in case they lose, "Pfft, it was only North, who cares if we won or lost?"
No denying Petrie is in good form. I'll back Hooker in to have a good game. He has been down on form but will bounce back this week. He will take a lot of confidence from his round one performance.Petrie has kicked 23 goals in the last 4 games - he is in very good form and Hooker is really struggling. He will slaughter Hooker if left one out. Would be amazed if Hooker starts on him. On your own board he is been smashed for being terrible over the last 2 months.
Is there a reason you posted about how much beating the Roos means to you - or were you just being a typical Bomber flog? Maybe run back to the "Essendon Supporters Only" thread - you will be nice and safe in that closet with the rest of the Bummers.
Interesting.I posted it because I really couldn't give a shit about your club but I know how much beating us means to you. I have friends who are North supporters who are very good people so I have respect for the club. It is the supporters on here on the other hand I couldn't care less about.

You know maybe it's our grand final because we've lost 4 of the last 5 games and we've got 4 tough games ahead of us and really need to win this week to get our finals campaign back on track.I guess Bummer Thompson was wrong.
Still, perhaps if they say it often enough, someone will eventually believe them
No worries.I will back that we won't hear from you when Petrie either pulls Hookers pants down or does not go anywhere near him on Sunday.
Then why are you friends with them?I have friends that are Essendon supporters and none are good people just like the supporters on here.

It is 7th vs 8th with both teams competing for a spot in the finals. Being North Melbourne has nothing to do with it.
No worries.

Atley's contained the best small forwards in the comp all year. I think he could've handled Jason Winderlich.
Yeah, you're right, Winderlich's actually shit.

It's got nothing to do with Winderlich. The bit about exposing Atley defensively was the amusing part.
Tbf, my post was never about saying Atley is poor defensively. He's the only player in your defence who has anything close to Winderlich's pace, and Winderlich is a bloody dangerous forward, as he's shown in his 5 games there since Hird took over. My point was that he'd have to defend more than he usually does, so he'd be able to drive the ball out of defence less than usual. It's like when teams tag Enright - sure he's an excellent defender, but you'd rather someone else did the defending and he could run and carry. Atley is like that as well - he's a good defender but he's a better rebounder.
Anyway, it's all semantics now, given Licka is out. Monfries will probably put a tag on Atley (he's more damaging than Wright and Gibson IMO) so it'll be interesting to see how that goes. Gus doesn't have the pace to keep up, but that doesn't normally stop him doing a decent job.
I hate to nitpick, but Atley plays on blokes like Milne, Jetta from Sydney and Garlett from Carlton. He defends significantly more than you appear to realise.Tbf, my post was never about saying Atley is poor defensively. First and foremost he's our lockdown small. Monfries won't tag him because Atley will be playing on Jetta or Davey.
It'll be an interesting game of ducks and drakes then, because Monfries always finds his way to the most dangerous small defender. It's not often you see the opponent switching inside 50 like you do at stoppages.
