I Feel like having a party on march 31 when there players get banned!
If the finding is "guilty", will we also find out the sentencing on March 31 ?
I don't think so. I'm sure I read the sentencing will be done at a later date.If the finding is "guilty", will we also find out the sentencing on March 31 ?
The verdict is 2 days before the season starts. I assume if the verdict is guilty the provisional suspension stands until sentencing?I don't think so. I'm sure I read the sentencing will be done at a later date.
Agreed they have missed nothing besides practice matches which plenty of players dont playThe sentence should not be a 'weeks' or 'months'...it should matches.
If they backdate to October 2014, then that's 6 months already...but only represents 2-3 NAB games...which is not actually a punishment. They are training, using club facilities & full access coaches etc.
If guilty, then there must be an appropriate punishment. An 'in competition' punishment.
Otherwise it must be appealed.
People say they were "duped" but ffs asada talk to every player and tell them their risks and responsibility ect. Apparently some players were getting upwards of 49 injections or something? Surely a player would maybe consult their club doctor who would then have told them his concerns as well about the program. If it is a guilty verdict, the ban would start from the date the infraction was issued - which was somewhere around 20th November, not the last game played. So even in the extremely unlikely event that they get a heavily reduced 6 month ban, that still takes it up to mid May = 6 or 7 games missed.
Personally, I reckon it will be guilty and they will get 12 months which means no training and they can't return to the club until November 2015. There's been a lot of wishful thinking and delusion in the media of late, "the poor players" ... "they've been duped" ... "2 week bans" Let me get out my violin The pharmacologically experimental environment is conveniently forgotten.
Whatever it takes, indeed ... ban the disgrace of a football club and let the rest of the competition get on with playing within the rules.
I believe the Doctor did write a letter to the club about it and Hird asked the Footy Manager, Corcoran " to put on your united nations cap on and settle the Doctor down".People say they were "duped" but ffs asada talk to every player and tell them their risks and responsibility ect. You would have to assume that they would have come to a verdict. Maybe they need the next couple weeks to consider individual penalties. If its a not guilty, then just announce it now, like you say. They may also need the time to put down on paper formal reasons for their decision and penalties, both of which could be subject to appeal. If they've announced a date, then surely they've come to a verdict amongst themselves?
And if they've come to a verdict, then can't they just tell us now? What's the holdup? Does the judge need to get his wig freshly dry cleaned for the occassion? Do they need to wait for a court room to become vacant?
Can't they just save us the drama and tweet the verdict or something???
They should be banned from the 2015 first and second round draft as wellYou would have to assume that they would have come to a verdict.
