Faith and luko. The new Marty and Doedee.
Well I think we should play fair here
Marty's real prize was the Shaz thing strewn across all threads.
Probably even in our food thread.
The lad wasn't selected in the draft or rookie list

It is somewhat of a lottery, but others will attest that Haggis will take the best talent at pick 8 and also 13 and then he may take a punt at 16 & 21 if he sees something he really likes. Port are all but assured to get Rozee with pick 5 or possibly Rankine and the chance to get Hately who my port mates tell me the club really rates seems to be a natural fit for them
Hately is the last type they need right now

Port are much more focused on SA boys than we appear to be..Hately is going to be a very good player and he is not just and inside mid from what I have seen of him this year - he can drift forward as well and kick goals
Whys that ?? They moved up to 5 to have a chance to get Rankine or Luko, 10 they already had.

yep - and at pick 10 my port mates are telling me they think port will take him then if he is there
Your Port mates have NFI who they are going to draft unless one of them is Jason Cripps or Chris Drain, the same as none of us know who Hamish Ogilvie and Justin Reid are definitely targeting. Both recruiting teams will have their draft order rankings down pat going in to draft night and it would be rare to deviate from it.

No one has any idea who will go where other than Walsh to Carlton.

So you're another of the "sheep" then because the only ones saying that are the footy media types? Nowhere have I seen Carlton themselves say they are absolutely, positively taking Sam Walsh.

Sam Walsh is by far the best kid I've seen in this years draft I can't see Carlton overlooking him.
Possibly Max King if he didn't get injured would compete for the number 1 pick.

You don't agree?

Well I've seen quite a bit of Sam Walsh play right in front of me and while I agree he's a top notch prospect I don't agree he's "by far the best kid in this years draft", in fact IMO he's not even the best midfield prospect in this draft, Bailey Smith has for more potent weapons than Walsh IMO, quicker, better acceleration from the contest, far better foot skills and equally good endurance.

More i think about it the more i think suns wont take rankine or rozee at 3. Will worry about rankine and you dont take a guy in that position because is a mate. Theyll do that with mcerney at 24 like brisbane did with raynors mate.

Walsh
Lukosius
Smith
Rankine/M King
Rankine/Rozee
Caldwell
7/8 Rozee/M King/B King

That's cool.
I don't see Bailey anywhere near Sam's level though.

Do you know why he's so strongly linked to Carlton ahead of Smith?

My friend from cricket has played with the kings for two years at the dragons, said they both run sub 3s sprints.. wtf.
Also said Luko should go #1.

Luko, the Kings and Blakey should go 1, 2, 3, 4. This years mids are good, but no different to any other year. Rankine is the outlier. A rare beast. Risk-reward proposition in terms of what he will be at his best. Also has the highest flight risk in this years draft.

In regards to Blakey, do we think teams will put a bid in early even though they know Sydney will probably match anything anyway ??
