Milera and francis are both guns. If were lucky one will be left by our first pick. Milera being compared to burgoyne is a fair comparison if you compare them before shauns premierships and experience. He is a jet. Any player that dominates against a magpies side heavily dominated by afl listed players is doing something right. Francis being compared to goddard is also valid. He reads the play well and can play in any position. Both are potential matchwinners. This is something we need to get with these high picks.
I think because he played so well forward for centrals that some are pigeon holing him as a forward but he is more a natural outside mid for mine that could also play across half back once he fills out , we could do with his class

I'd still take Francis however because he's a unique player that could be anything if he can improve his aerobic capacity

Important to note that Francis has a lot of running
to do in multiple pre seasons to be able to play in the midfield at afl level ...similar to what Matt crouch needs in order to get the tank

Don't see Francis playing forward much

Jeff mate get of the Collins train .......WILL NOT HAPPEN !!!!!!!!!!

We recruited our CHB last draft ......how many goes do you want? ......club HAS NEVER in two drafts, drafted for the same KP role ...and certainly not in defense

They might if they think Talia is a flight risk......

Sorry

Let's hope not

This is Pick 9 we are talking about here, JMO but unless we are taking a young outstanding tall with plenty of scope the player we take needs to be more dominant and find more of the pill than Milera.
I'm sure Tucker or most of the running players in this year's draft wouldn't be capable of the dominant performances of Milera at SANFL level. He played in league FINALS and was a big part of it.

Haven't been watching draft stuff too closely (as I have no idea about any of the kids because I haven't seen any of them play!)

but there seems to be a few SA boys talked up in the top 10 - We should be able to get atleast one of them, right?

A perusal of the 2015 U18's Championships Stats which pits all the best young players from each state against each other bar a couple that were unable to strut their stuff through injury may surprise some with the players "popularly" being touted and also some others the other way that don't seem for whatever reason to be so "popular". Guarantee some will be surprised.

IMO too much weight is given to the championships. Yes it's the best 18yr olds against each other, but so many things can happen from June/July to draft time in November.

Milera's form skyrocketed after the champs in a far superior standard competition.

Oliver didn't even play and then turned it on after that. Similar story with Ben Mckay.

So many of the good players missed because of injury Burton, Curnow, Weiderman.

Cant help but feel someone will punt on Burton. Carlton would grab him at 23 here.
Imagine coming out the draft with Weitering Francis McKay and Burton. Thats your forward and back half settled for the next 12 years
They'll certainly be set for some bumper trade weeks if they land that quartet

I'm on the Francis and Burton train. Both have been touted as top 5 picks at some point, have potential to play mid, elite skills and they're from S.A.
it would be great to get in some high grade home grown players.

The Mckay brothers seem to be rising on what they could do rather than have done, and given that they just scrape into this years draft thats ok but they haven't shown enough for me. Collins, he'd make our third first round 190+ defender, no thanks. I was keen on Milera before we landed Menzel but i've since cooled on him. Tucker, if we think he can transfer into a fulltime mid possibly at 13. Oliver and Mathieson will probably go before our picks. Bonner, Ah Chee, Balic etc i'm not keen on for various reasons.

Look I'm not saying Milera isn't a good footballer just that I believe he is a bit overhyped IMO, he played 11 SANFL games and from those 11 games he made the CDFC's best 6 on 1 occasion against Glenelg when he was B.O.G. kicking 5 goals on that occasion and his Championship games were nothing to write home about which I did see.

If Ogilvie rates him worthy of Pick 9 that's fine by me because he has been spot on of recent times and I'll be hoping he lives up to the hype, I'm just not seeing it personally that's all. We are all entitled to our opinion as you know how that old saying goes "Opinions are like a***holes, everyone's got one".

Watch the three goals he kicked in the sanfl semi and tell me you don't see class there
