Carlton are missing finals because of it.Which teams?
so not enough depth??They have heaps of KPP depth, they're just all injured
so not enough depth??
Two years is fine, money is the Q
No but it does mean that signing himmelberg as depth is goodThey have enough depth for a standard amount of injuries.
I mean they have more key position players than we have, should we be trading in a second Himmelberg type player in case 4-5 KPPs go down at once?

KPP?
They were all injured - Curnow, McKay and Weitering - at one point. Not sure of any others.
Most of their other injuries were not KPP for my recollection - there were and still are half back flankers and midfielders.
They had McDonald, Durdin, Weitering, Marchbank and McGovern all injured at one point
Bulldogs for one.Which teams?
Disagree, every side has a few of them and every year there are players available in the draft or trade as backup.
Good best 22 KPF/rucks are extremely valuable though
That's a bit too long. For some bizarre reason we've given him a two year contract extension
Highly unlikely a fringe tall from another side would come here on a one year deal, it would be 2 minimum, so essentially the same deal we just gave Berg. 2 years on likely low money is perfectly fine.
Except that we could probably find a trade at the end of year 1 if we really needed to (again, mature decent kpf/rucks will usually find a home). The only problem would be if we are paying too much and can’t find a club who’d take on his salary. It depends, but with a 1 year deal you could assess the options after every season. With 2 years we are locked into him even if a better player becomes available next year
What do you reckon, grab #13 when Tex retires ?I seriously think a change in numbers could bring him better fortunes...
34 rolling around half forward just doesn't look right
Plenty, but not thiswtf is wrong with this club
I think we're thin enough on KPP options that we wouldn't be getting rid of him next year anyway. Walker potentially/probably retiring end of next year leaves basically just Thilthorpe, Fogarty and Gollant as our tall forward options (assuming Frampton and McAsey aren't still around then). That leaves Himmelberg as our only depth there. Even if we bring in another one or two via draft or trade and assume they're ready to go (and don't turn out to be duds), that just brings us up to what should be a minimum level of depth in that area. You wouldn't bring them in to replace Himmelberg, it would be in addition to.If you were going to bring in a player from another side you'd want them to be better, otherwise you wouldn't bother.
If a player better than Berg isn't available, sign Berg to a one year deal and assess again at the end of next year. The only thing the two year deal is doing is limiting our options
I agree actually! Now to blow your mind Spackler, I would not be surprised if we offered another contract to Big, Billy Frampton!
I think this is a good signing as long as the wage is lowIf you were going to bring in a player from another side you'd want them to be better, otherwise you wouldn't bother.
