There’s a lot of shit happening at the club right now that it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better, harsh to judge Amorim yet.

As he’s said, we can stop what we’re trying to do and cope (As ETH did, completely stopped his style and wielded to player power) but be here in the same shitstorm again next season with zero progress, or go through more suffering now but be better for it in the long run.
But if you don't make Europe next year, you won't be able to buy players due to PSR and you'll end up struggling mid table with average players. Similar to how we went from mid table to relegation battling every year. He needs to win now and he's not doing that and arguably the team has done worse since he came in and changed formations and other bits and pieces. Yes, they haven't had a lot of training time but these are professional footballers who should be able to work out what the manager wants quick enough.

I agree but if we sack Amorim and bring in another manager nothing will change. We need open heart surgery as Rangnick pointed out. Amorim doesn’t want to abandon his way, but these players only know one way and it’s counter attack.

So we’re ****ed either way, we’ll be like Everton soon 😊

I thought Ineos did that open heart surgery...

They can play more than counter attack, just that your forwards are only good in counter attack - aka when they don't have to beat anyone one on one.

Or are they proving he is a dud because they're doing worse under him than EtH?

You can’t polish a turd, no matter who the manager is. These are average footballers Amorim has.

Perhaps average poster.

Yeah, it's going to be a bit painful along the way but it's a long term process.

He'll need a few windows but if you buy well he will be fine.

The big question is will Ineos have the patience or the right people in place to support him.

The EPL is way too competitive now, early 2000s if you had the money you could turn it around in 2 transfer windows especially if you had scouts or contacts in leagues that had hidden gems.
Teams just don't have that luxury because every club has quality scouts, everyone has the same information etc.
Amorim needs to identify his players, work out if they can afford them, hope that if they are from outside England that they will click in the team and in the league. Its why every time a club brings into a new manager due to poor performance of the previous one its called a "project" etc and the media stress how you need time.

Ineos gave EtH a lot more time than they should have, he wasn't the right fit, so If they think Amorim is the right fit they will back him in.

It's amazing how stark a second year in the PL can transform teams. Look at a Forest, Fulham, Brentford, etc. where if they survive that first season then more often than not they can rapidly become quite established - assuming they're run well. It really shows that for an Ipswich, for instance (the best run of the three promoted, I'd say) that if they could just somehow manage to stay up at the expense of a Wolves, Palace, Everton, they could really transform themselves. The temptation to go hard in January must be maddening for a club like that, because the downside risk is so severe at the same time.
