Beams out will **** my supercoach but would be a massive advantage for us if he was out, it's only Wednesday though and players train away from the main group at all clubs all the time.

Beams always destroys us, so if he is out that's good news for us. It's usually Beams, Pendlebury and Swan who give us the most trouble out of any team (throw in Sidebottom here and there for good measure)

Collingwood will have to find alternative avenues to goal again this week after small forward Jamie Elliott was all but ruled out of Sunday's critical clash with Essendon by Magpie coach Nathan Buckley.
Elliott, who with 30 goals from 14 games is behind only key forward Travis Cloke in the Magpies' goalkicking, missed Collingwood's narrow loss to Gold Coast last week after straining a hamstring against Carlton. He proved a costly absentee as the Pies managed only 10 goals against the Suns, and only two in two full quarters.
But in better news for Collingwood, Buckley confirmed that veteran Nick Maxwell, who hasn't played since straining a calf in round 11, would return to the senior line-up after only one game back in the VFL, while Luke Ball, who also missed last week with a calf injury, was a good chance to return as well.
"I don't think Jamie will get up," Buckley said on Wednesday at the Westpac Centre. "Bally should be right". Asked if Maxwell would definitely come back into a defence which has begun to struggled under the weight of opposition pressure, Buckley was unequivocal. "Yep," he declared.
The Magpie coach said Ben Reid, who hurt a calf again in his comeback in the VFL last week, would need to train to be considered for reserves selection, and that Patrick Karnezis, yet to play a senior game for the Magpies after transferring from Brisbane, faced more time in the VFL to build his match fitness after being restricted pre-season by a groin injury, then injuring a hamstring when he was on the verge of senior selection.
"Ben is still pretty sore in the calf from the cork," Buckley said of the important Magpie swingman, who has injured his calf three times this year and his thigh twice, and is still to play a senior game. "He can't take a trick. He planned to get through half a game [last week] and he got through about one-and-three-quarter quarters. He’ll need to train to prove his fitness to play this week at any level.
"Patrick had his second game back. He's building, and he hit the scoreboard at the weekend, which is good, but he understands he's got to keep putting those consistent performances in at VFL level and continue working on his fitness to have the ability to run out four quarters at senior level."

It would be interesting to know what kind of thing the GC backs were in Cloke's ear about last week. Perhaps we can build on that, given his admission about needing to make a good start. He seems mentally week, Travis.Only fair that if Goddard misses than Beams should miss aswell
If Beams and Elliot dont play and we shut down Cloke with our AA FB/CHB Hooker than its hard to see where collingwood score there points? Swan usually kicks 4 against us and thats his only goals for each year it seems
Ohh those little out the back goals that the Pies got against us on Anzac Day were infuriating. One of our worst losses of the season. Absolute domination for a quarter then we just let them back in. If Elliot does not play that is a big plus for us. I really would love to beat the pies next week just to give ourselves a shot at making the finals.
This game is the true definition of an 8-point game for both teams.
Beams is elite. Gun midfielder.
Confirmed out!
Probably offsets the Goddard loss in terms of importance to them. Shut down Cloke & we'll be well on the way to winning.
Id be running Melksham with Swan, making sure he earns anything forward of centre...let him get his junk 30 in the back half. Hocking has to go to Sidey & happy for Zaka to go head to head with Pendles with the nick he's in atm.
Fletcher will now come out and play a ripper game to prove a point.
Go bombers!
How can Collingwood possibly loose ?.......
How can Collingwood possibly loose ?.......
How can Collingwood possibly hang loose ?.......
How can Collingwood possibly loose ?.......
Ask your mate Steele. He's pretty loose when the opposition have the ball.

Beams is far more important to us winning these days than swan, look at our games and if he has a bad one we almost always lose. The only games where swan makes a huge difference these days are where he kicks multiple goals like Anzac DayWe only need to contain Pendles, Swan and Sidebottom to be assured of a victory.
Who will MacCaffer get first crack at?
Bolded is the most ridiculous comment, swan I can cop, but beams is the exact opposite, you clearly haven't watched him properly if that's our view.Hocking needs to go to Sidebottom. He led us on a merry dance last time...did he have an opponent?? Swan & Beams are having a lot of rubbish touches atm & id back Zaka & Heppell to go head to head. Goddard & Pendles to go likewise.
If we can get another corker out of Myers, it could very well be the difference.
Keep Winders off HB, with Pig & Dempsey as we could seriously hurt them on the counter.
Home game, plenty of confidence, we need to finish what we didn't 3 months ago. C'mon!!
No he wasn't...... In fact beams was on the sidelines for months when this talk was going on.... Ridiculous comment, he is quite possibly our best defensive midfielder as well as offensive, certainly our most rounded midfielderZaharakis of the last 6 weeks and the Zaharakis that started 2012 and 2013? It is probably about even but he's never been able to put a season together that matches Beams.
Think that people forget that Beams was also one of the "cheats". Did a lot to inflate his stats sheet early on without providing any cover and reasonably often for a net loss for the team.
Tell frosty and caff to keep a notebook in their socks. Detailed notes on how Hooker and Hocking go about their work would really benefit them in actually, you know, defending and stuff
Our mids have bullied hocking for years so he will be the one opposition player who we won't be taking notes offTell frosty and caff to keep a notebook in their socks. Detailed notes on how Hooker and Hocking go about their work would really benefit them in actually, you know, defending and stuff
