There is literally a petition from supporters of other clubs to have Haaland deported.

A million signatures and it is now being presented to the English parliament:

I am one of those odd cats who has supported City since the 70's 80's when I was kid playing soccer and I liked their strip. They were similar to the Saints back then with no success besides getting through to a FA Cup in 1981 with an own goal by Tommy Hutchinson who also scored another goal for City. Game went to a replay that City lost (bit like the Saints in 2010).

Since then City have had a tiny bit of success.

This to me is one of the greatest ever sporting moments:

To witness the look on Sir Alex Ferguson and other United supporters faces was magical. Along with the joy of City supporters who up until then had been the smaller club from Manchester and in United's shadow.

Ferguson famously said 'not in my lifetime' re City being succesful.

There is hope for the Saints

That’s hilarious mate: I’ve found another Saints supporter who has been a long time City fan!!

For me, pre 2008 or so, they were the perfect fit to the Saints.

I moved to Europe in 2006 and go to City games at least a couple of times a year and do the odd Champs league game as well now.

I have some close friends in Manchester who I played soccer with in Melbourne when they were doing their “gap year” but every single one of them are United fans. They used to laugh at me so much for being a City fan. I still stay with them whenever I’m in Manchester to watch City but they obviously don’t laugh much now.

I really love the people fro that part of the world, United or City fans. So down to earth, love their sport and music and a night out.

Honestly though, United fans from Manchester hate Liverpool twice as much as they do City: you realise when you spend time there how much hatred is between United and Liverpool. City fans hate United the most of course but from the City fans I know in Manchester, the Liverpool vs Coty rivalry is getting bigger now due to both teams being on the up and the traditional rivalry between the two cities.

It’s absolutely incredible watching City now. It reminds me a bit of watching the Saints at the Dome in 2004-05. You just sit back and watch blokes like De Bruyne running the show. I absolutely love watching a well coached team like City now that I am a member of and feel lucky after a life time of supporting the Saints.

If you’re ever in Europe, hit me up for tickets, I’d always welcome a Saints and Man City fan along for a game.

Great post / enjoyed reading it from one of the best user names on Big Footy.

Think City play Liverpool tonight? They do have a lot of supporters who can I say can be fairly vocal.

City bottled it again at Anfield.

I just mark it down as a loss now and move on before we even go there.

Salah goes beast mode, Klipperty Klopp fires them right up. Rinse repeat.

Just glad we have a gap of 10 points, takes the sting out of the loss.

I've inadvertently ended up here, so thought I'd at least add a post.
I enjoy watching soccer, [especially the girls] and think Sam Kerr is a marvel. [I also follow the Aus hockey as well.]
Now to my point:
Being raised with Aussie rules, I can never get my head around the off side rule in these sports! I know what it means and what it's supposed to be, but for the life of me, I cant see it as it unfolds or how it's avoided, as the game is played in real time. Also why do they have off side anyway? What would the game be like if they didn't have it?
Can someone help out this silly old bugger?

Staggering… just staggering…”

Had a bunch of City shirts in the early 90s. Back in the days when you couldn’t see them on TV unless they made it far enough in the FA Cup.

Costly dropped points for the scousers.

Not sure how Virgil missed those free headers, one in each half. Klipperty understandably frustrated in the presser.

That first one he really should've gone for goal. Looked to me like he was trying to nod it across to Firmino.

Crazy this Liverpool team hasn’t won more trophies, or at least more EPL titles. Peaked in an era when City have been even better. Really unlucky.

Still hard to complain about it. Seen us win every single trophy under Klopp, remarkable really. Happy to accept that we would drop away eventually, especially with no investment in the squad, but winning the Champions League and Premier League within 2 seasons is something I'll never forget. Been really lucky to have watched us win everything under Klopp with this team.
