How was Petruccelle's hit on Cox assessed as careless. He changed direction and swing his hip into Cox and barely missed the full impact on his head.

It was absolutely 100% intentional. MRO is taking the mick.

I also see that Reid escaped sanctions for his constant off the ball infractions indiscretions. One things is completely clear, Reid is mentally soft. First bit of frustration and he loses the plot. Arrogant prick.

To be honest it would be more of a punishment for WC if he was allowed to play.

A shout out for one of my favs - Sam Sturt. Though his second half was good, he is playing with more and more intensity each week. Seemed to be around the footy a bit more too? Had a great release handball from a pack stoppage to release Serong and led to the goal amiss passed out to Frederick in the third.
Nice bit of class for the snap goal late on too.

Convinced this guy can be a match winner in a really big game later this year yet…

I actually think that was one of his best games. Genuine really good pressure and clean where he needed to be. Only blemish was dropping that first mark

What’s the deal with the Reid bashing? Some of the comments are way over the top.

He’s a 19 year old kid who has no on field support & is expected to carry his team. They don’t have the culture to pull him into line, so there are issues, but you can’t knock a kid who plays with confidence & swagger.

For me he’s a breath of fresh air as he’s being himself & it’s fun to watch. It’s just harder to watch when he plays well against us.

He’s just a precocious teenager, albeit a very talented one. The personal attacks on him here are puerile.

Reid was quite crap, I was blown away to find out he had 29 possessions and 10 clearances. I was at the match and thought he’d had 10-15 touches and 5 turnovers. His possessions were highly ineffective. He had numerous opportunities to give quick hands and chose to go the don’t argue, exited the clearance side ways instead of forward,
very very selfish player.

Brayshaw is somehow underrated, his tackling and contested ball winning ability was enormous. Serong is so clean, but Brayshaw does Brayshaw things. His last few weeks are returning to 2022 afl MVP.

We’re so lucky to have such a star studded youth.

Make a note for Brownlow night.

Why are we spending 6 pages talking about Harley Reid.

I thought everyone over there in perth was sick of him hogging up all the headlines and back pages.

Yet on here he has been talked about more post game then any of our players in the Freo thread.

Which is what the complaints have been all season Harley this and Harley that.

Like seriously I have to laugh but i think it shows to a degree he is going to be box office weather you like him or not. He brings discussion points and has that swagger about him that brings attention.

One of his runs was just scorching. Took on 2 Eagles, burned them & had a bounce at absolutely full pace. Blistering. I love the way he plays with no fear.

Harley Reid is a good player. I know he will end up being a decent player when he hits his prime years.

But for a 1st season player, he acts like an arrogant flog. He should get some runs in the board before he has the right to do that.

I look at Chris Judd. He was on your list from 2002-7. By 2004 he won a Brownlow medal 60-65 games into his career.

By 2006, he achieved everything an individual player could achieve. Captain at the club, multiple AFL all Australian honours and premiership player in 2006. He got best on ground in that 2005 grand final loss to swans. Mind you, the eagles had midfield talent that was deep in those 2005-6 grand finals.

Judd was a good player but wasn't an arrogant flog, not on the field anyway.

So.... Do you think Harley Reid will achieve all of Chris Judds achievements by 2029? That will be Reid's 6th season in AFL.

I remember that 2002-07 era on how both the WA clubs went.

My eagles mates hated Jeff Farmer at Freo because of his Jesus Christ goal celebration. Ironic as they were talking poo at the time of what Jeff Farmer achieved as a player.

Harley plays a team sport and as a driven young competitor will do his best to help his team win.

The road to premiership glory is up and down, long and winding.

Harley like Judd before him is walking that road right now.

Yep, Walker is now clearly and undisputably a best 22 player for us and becoming almost indispensable. True express pace, like that of Brandon, Clark and Freddy is just footy gold and you just have to persevere with those types.

He is the one who can best close down space on those pacy attacking small forwards and shows an uncanny knack of ignoring his past indiscretions and just going on the attack again and again. Whilst you used to be able to count on him for some colossal mistake at least once per quarter he is going whole matches now with barely a mistake. His kicking I would almost say is now good to very good. As for AA, maybe not yet but its not impossible within say 3 years.

Lock him in: Premiership player.

PS you have to give kudos to JLo and co when its due, they have clearly backed this kid in to take the game on despite some never-to-be-again mentioned mares of the past.
