To be fair, I would *ing hate if an opposition player did that after half our team is injured.

But it wasn't an oppo player so i *ing loved it.

Agree - and yet it is the type of play that gets people watching and interested as well.

All the West headlines are gonna be about the brave Eagles aren't they.

Uhhhh sorry for intruding but I've been getting mixed messages online.

Was Chapman subbing out medical or tactical?

Medical - calf injury according to JL post game I believe

Campbell Chesser is in a knee brace now. West Coasts injury list is gonna double after tonight. Shuey hammy and a possible broken hand. McGovern will need an amputation. Cripps foot fell off and still hasn't been located. Witherdens brain has a flat spot and Liam Ryan lands on his head and somehow hurts his leg? Questions over SPS and Oscar Allen, too. Strewth that's a rough day at the office for team WC.

Alrighty thoughts from tonight:

  • Felt like Cox and Pearce were competing with each other to see who could have the worst game. 11 scoring shots between Darling and Allen. We're lucky they didn't capitalise more.
  • How good is Sonny? 6 goals in 1.5 games after missing a good chunk towards the end of pre season. He just makes the forward line look so much better.
  • Speaking about forward line, it was so beautiful actually seeing a leading forward. Amiss superb. Can't wait to see what he looks like with more games pumped into him.
  • Taberner useless up forward but took a few good marks long down the line. His forward 50 delivery is shocking though. I'd keep him in though as long as it means he takes up the oppos KPD.
  • Darcy much better. Actually taking a few marks and could have had 3 goals.
  • Jackson still dropping a lot that he should take. But still big improvement since last week. Also 7 tackles for a big man is good. Felt like at least he'd follow up with the second effort every time he dropped something. Nice seeing the players get around him after that first goal.
  • You can see how much faster we're able to move the ball when we are marking or crumbing those long down the line kicks.
  • Switta was superb. Best on ground for me. Just so much footy smarts and so good at breaking the line.
  • Third quarter we completely changed how we were playing. There was no taking the game on. It was so slow and safe and led to nothing but stoppages. There was one point where the ball lived in our f50 for about 5 stoppages (and 3 missed htbs btw) and we couldn't get anything out of it.
  • Liam Henry was shocking. Felt like every good thing he did he would undo in the next possession. And they were all cat 10 errors. Don't see how he survies this week.
  • Actually thought Hughes did quite well, especially when going back to help in defence.
  • Wilson tried to take the game on a lot last week. This week he was our slowest to do so. Would take years to decide where to kick it.
  • Johnson with some really classy stuff from limited opportunities.
  • Bullied in the contest again. Really need to fix that before we actually start competing.
Fair calls. I’m a fan of Henry but he had a bad game. Good round 1 average round 2. I’d move him out for Johnson. Henry to sub and he better make the most of his opportunities as Sub. That turnover in the first quarter was just the worst option he could have taken out of about 19 different options. Was never going to go over the top of that Eagles player to hit up Aish. He took a step forward after round 1 but a step back.

Walker in for Chapman (if injured) or Nathan Wilson if Chapman is ok. I agree that Wilson took too long to move the ball. I didn’t mind Hughes game. He does need to get more of the pill. But zero turnovers and he made good decisions when he had the ball.

I'm stoked Freo won

Jackson was much better but still has a way to go. When he funds form he'll be awesome

Serong and Switta carried the team. I bloody love them. If Brayshaw gets back to his best then we'll be much stronger.

Does Shultz look like a bloke who'd fight in the trenches during a war for Australia. Bloody oath he does.

Johnson will be a player. He has that stride about him with slick skills.

Walters is super dangerous

Biggest positive is my work colleagues won't want to talk to me tomorrow because they will be vomiting out their card-on-ay tonight.

Half those blokes should retire soon

Haven't seen him mentioned, but how good was Hayden Young. Kids a gun.

A frustrating game in parts thanks to some errors and lack of grunt at times. Maybe a controversial take, but I think we back them in again. I'm not convinced Henry is AFL standard or a lost cause, so I think he gets more time to show something. Changes for Adelaide should be Hughes to replace Chappy, Johnson to interchange and Erasmus to sub.

Some of the things I liked:
Johnson calmness for his first game was fantastic.
Dizzy was rusty but he plays the wing very well. He runs from our D50 to our forward 50 and places inbetween. We look better balanced with him in the side.
Amiss ability to hold his ground in marking contests was a real pleasant surprise. Must stay in the side.

We played so much better than the week’s previous, though we have a lot of improvement to go.

We take the win and move on.

Liam plays like it’s a wafl game, but afl is faster and he doesn’t have the same time to pissfart around like he does
Would be nice also if he had a set shot for goal if he actually put full effort into it and did a full follow through, looks like he tries to chip it through and he gets nowhere near it.

Didn’t make the distance today. Want all players to watch Walters. Absolute machine with his set shots

It is almost like he has been watching Amiss but the difference is that Amiss can actually make the distance.
