It’s not positivity vs negativity though.

That we should have won vs the eagles today was more of a given than the first two rounds.

When all of their important players went down and they had no one on the bench we should have smelt blood and hammered them. Instead we let them come within a kick going into the fourth with multiple unanswered goals. One of them came when they only had 17 players on the ground.

No one stood up. We should have absolutely locked down the second they kicked a goal in that situation, knowing we’d be able to run them off it in the fourth.

That’s what people are rightfully criticising.

Shouldn’t have to spell this out and I’m not spelling it out for you snuff but the numpty that thinks a win or a loss is a binary thing and ones means happy and the other unhappy. Just a silly take. It’s because we want to win it all that we give a s**t enough to criticise with pointed, hopefully constructive, criticism.

Mate, I never said criticism is not allowed. But be my guest, take no enjoyment out of the win and bag the players because the other mob of also fully grown men had a run of 3 goals.

Liam plays like it’s a wafl game, but afl is faster and he doesn’t have the same time to pissfart around like he does

Well that's nice. Walters had only 8 disposals? Looked like he had at least 12-15.

Surprised Schultz only got 1. He worked hard too.

Some interesting comments here.

My observations at the game:

• Thought Tabs had a decent game. Covered the ground, looked dangerous in the air, took a few marks and saw out the game. Nothing to complain about from me.
• Both Aish and Switta were excellent.
• We still struggled with clearances before Shuey was injured. Noticeable that we lack a big body in the centre square. Jackson didn’t have too much impact there when not rucking.
• NOD looked fairly rusty.
• I liked Johnno’s early score involvement but I’ll wait for a bigger sample size before declaring him the second coming of Dave Mundy.
• Henry made lots of mistakes, mainly because he seems to think he has better skills and more time than he actually has. I like the way he is getting more involved in contests now and if we persevere with him a little bit longer maybe more pennies may drop.
• Cox and Pearce pretty much had stinkers.

According to some on the eagles board, this performance proved that the Eagles are closer to flag. I don’t think realise they are still coming down and haven’t even hit the bottom of their list yet.

I’ll take four points and a percentage boost all day everyday. The performance in the third was horrid and a bit of the fourth. The games balance had shifted before they started having their injuries and we kind of played like we expected them to just roll over for us. But credit to the weags, they gave us their all. We came away with a score line that probably flattered them a bit in terms of the whole context of the game.

On to Adelaide for a couple of weeks of bonding and a decent test against both Adelaide and Gold Coast. Will take a win from those two games but will hope for two
