He spent the entire quarter giving the ball directly to Fremantle opponents. I don't care how good his positioning was - his decision making and disposal were attrocious.
I didn't say his quarter was good and beneficial, it's just promising signs as we haven't seen that much in the past.

His kicking is usually good, I'm sure it'll change in the future

Painful club to follow. Freo 1-39 the only positive.
Hawks $1.80 ladbrokes next week. Load up

Hawks were around $2.20 for that game initially. Now bashed into $1.72 which is still overs.

Huge elephant in the room is Collective Minds. I can't help feeling a bit depressed everytime I think about them. Unless we address this waste of time, we will not rebound from our predicament.
The "huge elephant" is that we are shite and we haven't had players come on the season despite opportunities.

Usual suspects, Atlins, McKay, Sauce...but keep the faith and back them in:rolleyes:

Do I start the "death riding Adelaide" thread now with a link to the 2018 draft thread?

Gees, didn't you see his kicking, that was twice as bad
Correct.

He is playing injured.

We would be lucky to have 15 fit players in our side, along with many youngsters means we are in massive strife.

There are absolutely issues that need to be dealt with. Collective Minds is one of them. Our pre-season training regime is another.

Season 2018 is completely shot, but there are still positives that we can take out of the year. We clearly have players who are carrying injuries, and others who just aren't up to it. Now is the chance to send players off for surgery early, so that we have a full squad ready for training on Day 1 of pre-season training. Conduct those "independent reviews" into CM and the training mess. Give some of our other youngsters a go, to expose them at the next level and see what they've got.

That doesn't mean we should be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. We're still right in the zone for the 2019 flag, but first we need to fix everything which has gone wrong this year. Rebuild, no. Fix the problems and reset for 2019, absolutely.

Good

Doedee and Talia - without those two we would have gone down by a hell of a lot more.
Atleast the young guys tried hard - poke, Murphy and fog
The season is over and we should get a decent pick this year.
Greenwood’s mark

Bad

The season is over

Absolutely far King terrible

Mackay and Atkins - neither of them are even an afl players arseh*le..
Kelly - what’s happened to him this year?, can’t even take a simple mark.. trade.. get Francis.
The umpiring
Playing a clearly underdone Tex
CEY and Greenwood - cooked
Sauce - passed used by date

What’s even worse is that the arsehats running this shit show will still think we’re in for a shot and still think Atkins and Mackay are part of that... they’ll be named next week for sure.

It’s a weird feeling.. was obviously hoping for a win and thinking that we were gonna get one... up until that third quarter.. then although I thought we may still win I was actually hoping we didn’t... if we hadve won that in the last few minutes it would’ve been “seasons back on and Mackay and Atkins are forgiven for another four weeks”..

Please **** those two off next week.

Maybe at some point the coaching staff will finally notice that CEY isn't up to it, and we can try something, anything else, like Wilson or McPherson, because they couldn't possibly be any slower, and lack of pace in midfield is why we get murdered in transition by everyone.

Spot on, he just doesn't run defensively. It kills us.

Freo are sludge and we couldn't get a win

Atkins
Kelly
Jacobs
Mackay
Gibson

**** off immediately and forever please.

This shouldn't be any surprise, we have a pretty good history in making ordinary teams look good even when we are traveling well let alone the trash we've served up from round one and the state of our squad.

The fitness and conditioning staff should be sacked pronto. Since when is Burton that good resource as to be responsible for the Football department and Fitness and conditioning. Whoever signed off on this should also be booted out the door.
This one component has had the single most significant impact on the team. They better not be there next year.
And lets not forget Collective minds that was apparently another genius idea from Burton, its done f##king wonders for our squad who look mentally shot.

The second problem is an outcome of not having enough fit players that are up to AFL standard to choose from to enable us to weed out the garbage, they are Atkins, Kelly, Mackay, Sauce (soz but he was done ages ago) CEY.
The fact that we have literally no one to challenge or no one we are willing to play in front of Sauce is damning on the coach and match committee.....we continue to play and back in blokes that will not make us a better team.

Then lets start with the assistants....Clarke, he was a good tap ruckman and garbage at anything else, sauce has gone backwards and Clarke is about as exciting as used toilet paper.
Hart, apparently sacked from the Pies given a job at the Crows.
Campo been there too long with probably the same stale outlook.

Lastly, the decision makers at the club should have the guts to come out and say we f##ked this up.

What a diabolical turn of events 2018 has turned out to be with a lack of leadership on and OFF THE FIELD.

Now its time to tank.

Good- Doedee, should have played last year, my BOG.
Gibbs, just.

Bad/Ugly - MacKay as usual, 80 AFL games too many, like Reilly and VB.
Kelly - bring in Cheney.
Greenwood / CEY - getting found out now.
Jacobs. Pity O'Brien and Hunter inj and we never dropped him previously.
Gibson - if we not using him as tagger, why did we get a 32 yo ???

Anyone still willing to defend him?
For continuing to select Mackay and Jacobs? Indefensible.

Apart from that, he coached us to PF then GF, and to be fair the injuries crippling the side are not his fault.
Definitely his problem now, the club's problem (gotta sack Hass and get new assistants), but yeah I'll defend Pyke.

However, I'd take Blight back, or Matthews, or Clarkson in a heart beat. Which club wouldn't? (yeah I know the Saints sacked Blight, the mugs)

Edit:
The uglier

"after we work our way to the front against enormous hardship and more shit umpiring, and then lose in a close one, sustaining another 2 injuries to our next 2 best players."

Just quoting myself from before the game. Spooky I know.

You must make a fortune on the punt.

I’m starting to get concerned about Gibbs. Consistently fills the stat sheet, but another poor game in terms of disposal efficiency. Defensively he tackles well at the stoppage, but in general play he’s not that effective.

For two first rounders for a veteran player I expected someone who could play as a general when given support - like a slightly poor mans version of Hodge in his prime, or a lesser Mitchell, or a not quite Simon Black. At the moment I’m seeing Wayne Campbell.

What do we do with Fog? Keep playing him when he clearly is not AFL KPF standard yet (no slight on him given his age and the difficulty of the position) or send him back to our shite SANFL side where he'll barely sight the ball?

I think you answered your own question, with the bolded bit.
