Wonder if he's laying down on the floor right now, as he thinks through their next move...
The truth is, as a winner, it's physically impossible for him to lie down. It's some sort of weird quirk of physiology, I've read in a medical journal how he has excess water in his legs so if he lies down, he actually automatically springs up. I have attached a picture of him doing some martial arts, where he just won't go down. Amazing trait for human, I can see it rubbing off on the players already.

And when the club try to sign their future players to longer deals, their credibility will be damaged. They can promise the player they are valued and part of the future but the player would just say; “Yeah sure but in 18 months will you say the same?”
Absolutely. It means you have that doubt in your mind when you're about to committ to them long term and sign a big contract.

The Pies don't like to honour their commitments. IMO, this is a bad look for their club.

Trading a player two years into a seven year contarct, that is poor form and it's clear Grundy was very happy there.

It clears salary cap space but there is a big downside to what they have done here in terms of maintaining a good culture.

Good get by you.

Even got his name included in the shot for authenticity. ;)

Grundy's problem at Pies was not of his own doing. Buckley was the instigator and was pushing for the club to sign him on a long term deal and build the side around him.

Given the boredom attached to current proceedings (current manufactured proceedings), perhaps we can play nearest the pin and pick the time the Henry deal get's either killed off / or officially announced as being done.

I'll step up to the tee and go with - deal gets announced that he's going to Geelong at 7.25pm.

Doesn't exactly take into account that clubs only need to be lined up ready to lodge paperwork at 7.30pm ...... but you get it.
National draft is my prediction.

And good on him, sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. I am happy for Lincoln
Absolutely wish him all the best. Just pointing out that the story of how amazing his resurgence was at the Lions totally ignored the reality of an already fit and available player who was apparently ready for a change of scenery and the chance to hang out every day with his best mate.

Procedural question Cats supporters. If Collingwood refuse to deal and OH leaves Collingwood does he go into the ND or PSD? Pies supporters seem to think it will be the PSD and they'll redraft him.

Can be either, will be a decision for him and his manager

Let's see if that 'Coach of the year' award was deserved...

Only one coach won the premiership, having very junior assistant coaches, reinventing how line-coaching was done in the sport, revitalising the team after a heavy loss against Melbourne in the finals in 2021, dominating the competition in 2022 for 16 wins straight, dominating the last two games of the year against the second and third best teams of the year (with the opposition) coaches saying they were beaten in every facet of the game, revitalising players with new roles, bringing in young players with hunger that easily ended up as some of the best players in their positions, changing how midfielders spent time on the field, not having Dangerfield and Stewart (2 of our top 3) for huge chunks of the game, resting very good players throughout the season, and winning with a team who were 'past their prime' and not in a sweet spot for age.

Meanwhile, the Pies had a lucky streak of close wins againts average teams. When it came time to go against the best, their close wins became losses. They had heart, but not much else. It will average out next year and they'll be around 7-10.
Yep great post.

At one level I'd think CS would be baffled at best, at another CNGAF and rightly so.

I hope the club get around him if that happens. The vilification is going to be vile.

The first thing we need to do is clarify what we offered.... I wonder if that show me the money doco team recorded the whole negaotiation
I'm more upset Stephens looks like he's gone. That one will come back to bite us.

He can choose either or both.

Anyway I wouldn't worry about what the no-clue Pies fans are saying.

They are literally off their heads.

Imagine offering a guy a minimal chips contract and then redrafting him for double that after he has said he won't go back.

It's not gonna happen in either draft.
