I would take McKenna no issues there. There will be a lot of clubs looking at him though.
Does he qualify for Delisted Free Agency? So no picks required, just who he nominates? Or is it draft? It wouldn't be Cat B rookie, as he's played AFL before ?

Pretty sure he's a DFA- retired counts the same as delisted. Doesn't matter whether the club or the player decided to leave the playing lists, off the list is off the list.

I'd say itll end up being a bidding war for Mckenna, unless he is motivated by team success I can't see us matching what the Dons and others will be offering. Gonna be a big pay raise going Stengles way soon that they probably didn't anticipate in their future cap planning considerations.

I don’t think there’s any chance he’s going to the bombers. It’s all about the pitch to him for a contract and what the club can offer.
I’d think we’re in a great position to recruit him if we are keen. Successful club, existing Irish players, connection with one of the coaches, place in the team for him.

I’m sure others like Collingwood will make a play as well. From our end it may depend on what some of our existing mature players do at the end of the season and who else we recruit.

A little more chatter slipping out of the pies suggesting Henry potentially looking for the exit. The contract value being a convenient excuse to deflect attention until after finals.

Criticised re: needing to lift his training intensity along with a couple of other younger players (and perhaps rightly so) - but not necessarily taken that feedback very well. His heart not in it there.

Originally was looking at being drafted by the cats until GWS took those picks as part of the Cameron matching fiasco (which was surely impossible under their cap given they are now trying to offload a handful of midfielders to clear space).

Time will tell.

People in Ireland don’t seem to be too sad about his departure. ‘Overrated and questionable character’ mentioned over and over about his time back home.

I’m not saying don’t get him but reading up today I thought people would be angry and devastated.

And where did you read all this?

I wonder what the trading price will be for Bailey Scott.

If it's anything after our Pick 46, then it's worth it.

NM have a terrible draft hand after Pick 1. So who knows, they will probably offload if the rumours are true.

Just have a funny feeling we ain't really linked.

Articles suggesting we are monitoring the situation but not actively pursuing him.
