Momentum-killer of the game, probably round, possibly season ---
We're 5 points down, on a roll, playing well.
If Brouch kicks that goal we hit the front for the first time since early 1st Term.
With no Geelong player within 4 metres of him he blazes, misses.
Geelong rebound, nail the goal and then kick another quick goal. Momentum over, heads down, game over.

ROB's ootf from 25 metres out in Q3 was similarly dreadful. A heartbreaking spirit-killer.

(btw, I think Brouch is a gun and misses like his totally mystify me --- elite players from the best teams kick those goals)

Brooch has always been overrated but many on here believe he will deliver the next flag. Sorry but he won’t.

Yeah, but... can you blame them?

Why as the club would you change anything, when our fan base is so delusional that people actively fought against playing our most talented junior because we were supposedly in premiership winning mode, and had to instead prioritise C grade senior players.

I mean, ****, if I can keep selling watered down shit, what's my incentive to not keep cutting?
Do I understand why they act this way? Yes.

Do I agree with what they are doing in light of understanding their reasons? No

He and Sloane were the only guys in our team who looked like they knew what they were doing most of the time

Frankly I couldn’t give a **** if Tex looks marginally less like a cripple than last year. He’s paid to lead through his actions (absent), crash packs (absent), take contested marks (absent), kick goals (absent) and apply forward pressure (absent).

So for those that think he’s best 22, by what metric are you arriving at that determination?

WOG tonight by a mile.

putrid - the lack of pressure on any of our golden pass players from the coaching department for the last however many years. players can tear apart at sanfl level but get a token game here or there. same faces let the club down week in week out and nothing changes.

good clubs play good players, not the same players.

On top of two spots opening up in the women's side.

Our women's team deserve better than to be used as the punch line in an insult.

They're the one thing at this cursed ****ing club we can be proud of.

This is the reasonable core of our side moving forward

B Brown* - Talia - Doedee*
HB Laird^ - Keath - Smith
C Milera - Sloane - Seedsman*
HF ??? - ??? - ???
F ??? - ??? - ???
R ??? - M. Crouch - B. Crouch

I Greenwood - Jones - ??? - ???

9 spots up for grabs including the entire forward line. I don't think we have the talent in reserves for that.

*Brown, Seedsman and Doedee injured
^Laird needs to pull his finger out

The umpire on hand saw this incident with Seed clearly distressed on the ground... then just ran away.

The umpiring was deplorable tonight, but a lack of duty of care.. when a trainer has both hands up screaming for play fo stop for a stretcher for a few minutes is far worse than poor free kicks.

Shoukd be dropped as completely unacceptable.
Spot on, the trainer with the stretcher was flat out screaming at him and he refused to acknowledge him. Farcical.

Fogarty, McHenry, Stengle and Davis can occupy 4 of those spots.

The rest.... hmm.

Time for the glue factory

Betts was worse. In fact, he's been worst on field two weeks running.

Scary thing is he still has another year after this one on his contract.

Jenkins, Walker and Lynch have three years remaining.

Reid has been as big a disaster as Burton. Another Ricciuto pick.

I'm starting to think our squad is being over coached. So much indecision going forward. Maybe need to just let the play and regain some confidence. Forward entries terrible, transition kamikaze. Stoppage structures all wrong. Too much finger pointing.

We've served up the same game plan this season... backed the boys in... and the game has gone past our coaching panel. It's almost embarrassing.

Spot on, and have said it for a while. We're trying to rekindle the 2017 style when a) the game has changed and b) the cattle in the forward 50 are two years older and being coached by an amateur.

Frustrating thing about Tex is that the brief period in the 3rd quarter where he was good, took a couple of grabs, snared a goal... was comfortably our best part of the game. Actually the only time we looked like a functioning team rather that just getting return from a scrambling series of frantic efforts.

He is our most influential player, unfortunately that cuts both ways.

Just got home...

Good:

Ratkins kept me in the goal kicking comp
The effort. Can't fault the endeavour
The weather
3rd Quarter
Mileras evasion
Sloane worked his ass off again
Brad Crouch (see above)

Acceptable:

Keath (mostly but needs some muscle)
Hartigan (mostly)
Gibbs better (mostly)
Jones (getting better each time out)

Putrid:

The SKILLS. OMFG. We make Port look like the most skilled team on the planet by comparison.
We are too slow, too small and too old. We look like we are running in treacle. T%he number of times we hit up the opposition with no crow player within 20 metres was mind numbingly frustrating.
The squibs who left sooo early. Disgraceful!
The coaches box! Get a gameplan that works or GTFO!

The worst of All:

I've been on the "We're in the premiership window still" camp. Until tonight. I was fooled by the JLT. But no more! Get the kids with some speed in. Find some contested marking beasts. Find some athletic rucks WITH SOME LEVEL OF SKILL!!!
The Carlton board are right. We are on the wane
