Ugly: Serious when I say this. I'm sadder today than I was after losing the grand final. At least then there was hope of a future on the horizon - we'd made it there and we could do it again.

But today really sends a dagger into the heart. Other sides like Richmond, West Coast and now the Ds are going past us and the window is shutting. Might be another few decades before we get another go.

Sad.

8 goals...... 8 ***ing goals after they took their foot off.

Where was Bryce today, did he play

Today is not last year. Last year he's in a team alongside a fit Sloane, and a team wit continuity and a functioning forward line, today he was in a midfield surrounded by shit, with nothing resembling a forward setup to aim at.

Good enough place to post it:
Gibbs looks like his heart is still over inside the Carlton clubrooms.
And when I've heard him asked about Carlton this year, he talks about them like his heart is still over there. He's happy to be home and that looks about it right now.
he's got a lot of great friends on our team so you'd expect that is the case.

he always looks laconical even when he's focused and dominating. some of his tackles today show that even when he doesn't look aggressive he's still damn good.

Another premiership window passing by with no glory, what a shock. This club continues to disappoint year after year.
Yep. This is the worst of the last 20 years for mine. We had the list to be a genuine threat but due to the incompetence of the off field dept and another boys club signing this year is dead in the water.

It's tough being a Crows supporter.

We are tired mentally and physically.

We have had two really draining games in a row. the showdown an emotional roller coaster. The bulldogs wet weather footy

We have as bad as an injury list I've seen since the first ever showdown.

We could take no more mentally when seedsman was injured in the warm up.

Nothing to say about this game.

Let's move on as soon as possible
Well that's just the sign of a pissweak club.

Also, talk about Groundhog Day.

Just waiting for the presser where it's labelled as "an event, not a trend" and that "nothing went right for us today".

I look forward to us learning nothing and having the same thing happen later in the season

That wasn't us today.

He isn't an 8 goal player. If you think that, you're deluded.

We know the answer to that already

The lengths some of you go to in order to justify the absolute worst in management decisions from this club is mind boggling. A player doesn't have to kick or assist 8 goals in order to change the result of an 8 goal loss, things are just a tiny bit more complicated than that.

Not (YET) 'throwing the baby out with the bath water'...but if so-called rumours are 'true' & 'chief' Lynchy did a FIFO trip to Melbourne last week (due to potential talks with another suitor) - then whoever vetoed that from our club should be stood down, with Tom himself sat out for a 'spell'. Worst performance from a 'captain' (be it a 'stand-in' role) for the triColours that i have seen (i know that he had plenty of accomplices also). At least Talia & Crouch jnr. actually seem to give a F**K for the majority of the match. I know we live in a newAge of player negotiations & movements, but for the former's preMatch travel to be OKed when not during a 'bye' weekendOff stinks of unprofessionalism. I don't care if our kid the FOG has a 2stroke tank ATM...he MUST be played at all cost, until seasons end (barring injury or suspension) - honestly would let go of Sloane, Lynch & Atkins the way i'm feeling now (to said 'destination club' in the Saints)...for Jack STEVEN & 1 single 'steak knife'!

Of course he would still have that but he looks like someone that hasn't made the disconnect yet and the new connection at his new place. And your heart has to be there to play at your full.
Yeah I know what he was like, I follow all football, not just my club. He looks in the in-between at the moment.

What will the usual AFC spin be after this performance?

(1) The loss we had to have
(2) Wake up call
(3) Took our foot off the pedal
(4) Melbourne were switched on
(5) Tough conditions
(6) Don't want to blame injuries, but injuries

I'm going number 5.

Good:

I haven't wanted us to sign Lynch this season (as I want a spot in the side for Fogarty), and he absolutely failed the one time he could have put doubt on this decision. Like Lever, hopefully this convinces us that it's time to cash him in for draft pick/s.
Fogarty, Gooch and Milera (who did look a tad unfit) showed some promising signs.

???
Hello time to restructure.

Bad/Ugly
CEY - unfair to single him out, but seriously can you stop spudding it up any time I start to think you are an AFL quality player.
Pretty much everyone else
Jacobs looks cooked, though it is worth noting Gawn has routinely slaughtered him throughout his career. Might be time to look at trading in a replacement.

The lengths we go to ??

So in effect you are saying is - Bryce Gibbs = 2017 flag.

It's not something that can ever be known for certain, but Bryce Gibbs in 2017 was definitively better than every midfielder in the Crows bar Rory Sloane, and certainly better than every Richmond mid bar Dusty, it's absurd to suggest that inserting him at the expense of a bottom mid would not have impacted the outcome
