We just kept fumbling and missing targets.
No wonder we keep bombing it if you have no confidence that you will spot up your team mate.
I thought the bomb it long game plan last week was just our wet weather game plan, looks like we are going to adopt it for the whole season now.
Having these lowly skilled grunt type guys in the team is showing where our team is at.

Re-signing Nicks at this stage of the season is a mistake.
No one in the club is under any pressure to perform. No wonder we keep seeing such soft efforts.
The club values the wrong traits to be successful.
When performance isn't your number one criteria, you are never going to be a winner

I was in disbelief as our guys were electing to punch instead of mark and then we spoint each other at other times when virtually uncontested. Communication was terrible to say the least

It was almost like that was the instruction to defenders in the 1st quarter as it nearly all our defenders were punching when they could have taken clean marks.

Not as awful as Murphy. But there's no doubt the crouch, Laird, Berry filled midfield is asking for max damage incurred. But Murphy, at 100 games, should go first, he's fully developed and there's nothing redeeming there. Except his hustle, gotta love that hustle.

Which is why we should be cycling draftees and second year p,Ayers through the spots being wasted on spuds like Murphy. He's depth, leave him in the 2s until we're contending and injury necessitates his selection. Add McHenry and Sholl to that list. And Smith as well, although recognising that he was a very good player, he's just useless now.

The club we are most like right now is Essendon

A club that should have a powerful position in the league, but has suffered due to scandals of their own doing. Hasn't done any damage in finals for years with no end in sight.

A club with a long standing recruiter who refuses to address the midfield, and even when midfielders are selected, the coaches play them out of position. A club with few big bodied mids. A club with horrible leaders. A club with past it ineffective one dimensional inside mids. You can interchange players like Rachele and Pedlar for Perkins and Parish. Sloane or Smith for Heppell. Laird for Shiel.

A club with a dud, ultra conservative coach who prefers experience and continuity who has a history of playing shit players for far too long.

A club that continues to make terrible off field decisions

It's dire stuff.

Of course being pick 1 wouldn't have anything to do with it..
Watching the VFL game Richmond vs Suns currently Kane McAuliffe 1 st quarter 13 disposals 8 kicks 5 HB's 4 clearances and a goal....might be that fleet footed big bodied mid we missed from right under our noses methinks. Pitted up against Suns 1st rounder Jake Rogers and giving him an absolute bath that quarter.

I like McAuliffe. He is exactly the type we need.
Hopefully Charlie Edwards come good
It's especially disappointing when they are local lads that go later in the draft as well

There is scrutiny for Jones from some including me, but you don't know what your on about if you think he wasn't playing good footy before his injury last year.I don't care about your stay sheet.

If so, we should use him more off a wing & less inside too his body is right.

Kane is B.O.G. up to half time closely followed by the Suns next Academy star coming through this year's draft Leo Lombardi who is an absolute jet.

It looks like the Suns hit the jackpot with last years draft with all those academy kids

This is the week to make at least 4 changes as there are some players who have now had 2 very ordinary games.

Sure set him up to fail with a ridiculous match up with Stewarr, then torch him for a couple of mistakes. The kid doesn't need to be dropped, he needs to learn. Same with Berry. Keep playing them, teaching them... not bouncing them in and out of the team.

The time for harsh selection policies is when you're in contention, not when you're developing. People (including the club) are so short sighted.

Wait you’re suggesting Pedlar get dropped?

That’s the sort of thing you’d expect Nicks to do and leave Murphy and Smith untouched

The positive is none of our next three games are easy. Freo (away), Dees (home) and Carlton (away).

The worst thing that could happen at the moment is to play West Coast. I think that trial fooled the club into thinking how good we were.
