To be fair to Sloane his best quarter has been the last quarter all season, I think he’s just better suited when the game slows down a bit.

Can't disagree with that at all, feel his game is best suited to the sub spot now, in the heat of a game early I kind of flinch now with Sloaney, he just doesn't have the pace to compete

What did you think of the center bounce attendance numbers today?
I don't make as big an issue out of the CBA's as some

We know Rachelle, Soligo, and Pedlar are future MIDS ......their CBA's in their 2nd & 3rd years is irrelevant, it's the Clubs intent

As I've said, it's impossible for 2nd year players to play full time MID in their 2nd years .....their body's can't take the battering .....so they're being protected and rotated thru

I thought Laird was pretty ordinary today .....just wasn't switched on in the 2nd half

The point is it’s not fitness it’s not management.
It’s trust, they didn’t trust the kids last week in a hot game, with 4 cba’s between soligo pedlar and Rachele.
This week right from the get go they get CBA’s
41 this week in a game that was never going to be as hot.
It can only be explained as the coaching staff not having the trust to play them in the kitchen when it’s hot.
Which is disappointing, if it was fitness I could understand.

I’m shocked how Rachelle all of a sudden became fit enough to play midfield……
still looks pretty cooked after a few efforts , hence for one of best kicks in our team makes errors by foot consistently

just makes me think when he gets his endurance up we are going to have a truly elite player on our hands mid/forward

nicks playing it smart , can wear that against north and played a young midfield + sloane

just part of the group think narrative, was actually ok today

same people bagging ROB for weeks then don't acknowledge his last month as dominant
I have acknowledged ROB's form has been far better of late.

Marking the ball again & he's having more impact too when the ball hits the ground... including tackles.

I thought Rash showed a lot today defensively and made excellent decisions with ball in hand. It’s good for his development, just now needs to get back the confidence in his kicking for goal

He was the spark in the middle at the start of the 3rd quarter that got us going.

Hopefully we give him decent time as part of the midfield rotations from now on.

Nice win, North looked good in the first half in patches and really took it it us. Was glad to see us put the foot down and pile on some quick goals before half time. 2nd half we were in total control.

Good to see the younger guys get more of a run in the middle today. We need to do this more often and not just against the lower sides.

Rankine and Rachele were both good today, if Rachele kicked straight his numbers would have been fantastic. I liked Thilthorpes game too.

Hinge was great again for the 2nd week in a row, and ROB was everywhere, his best game for a while.

Good to get the 4 points and increase the percentage. Next week is make or break for me for finals chances. If we win this it almost sews up a top 8 spot. Lose it and we will need to beat either Port, Melbourne or Brisbane to get there.

Just going to list the good on this game:
  • great defensive pressure all game.
  • our tackling has been a great feature in the recent few weeks
  • excellent diversity in goal kickers with most contributions being quite even among the forwards; 2-3 goals to Tex, Fog, Thilthorpe, Pedlar, and 5 to Rankine.
  • thought ROB had one of his best games ever, field kicking is pretty good, and now goal kicking seems to have improved out of sight! I no longer close my eyes when he attempts a kick for goal! 🫣
  • despite constant injuries to Butts/Murray/Doedee, our defense has been very sound and able to cover injuries well, particularly in the recent month.
  • Rachele’s goal kicking has been poor in recent weeks, but I’m impressed with his ability to find the ball and his tackling has been excellent all match today.
