I don't remember early in the season to be honest. But he just seemed to burst away from stoppage alot today.

Today:
13 contested possessions
7 score involvements
7 tackles
5 clearances
Best game since earlier in the season when he was playing in the midfield as well as forward.

Round 4 - 20 possessions, 3 goals
Round 1 - 18 possessions, 3 goals

He was very good in the 1st month, then was moved mostly forward.

When the players images and numbers come up on the big screens before the game, Michaelany is sponsored by a pest control firm. Wrong. Should be Ned. :)

Dunno, I reckon the forwards who have played on Michalanney think he is a pest as they struggle to kick goals on him.

Very good today !

Agree though , better early in year

Going to be some player , can see him turning todays game into 40 possessions and 3 goals eventually

Always been a big Worrell fan

His development since his first game in Cairns vs St Kilda has been massive
Sucked he got the hamstring in preseason... but hopefully gets a good run of it now.

Sloppy game really. The sloppiness allowed North to stay into the game. Far longer then they should have. Overall a good win. We did what we needed.

Umpiring was inconsistent and full of howlers.

If the AFL want to stamp out careless acts that result in head injuries then Larkey needs two weeks. Sounds funny but he deliberately pushed Butts who was already in the air into the path of the contest and it made him lose control. Not only did he cause an injury to Butts but he hurt his own team mate who also got hit in the head. It can't even be argued it was a football incident. It was a deliberate shove because he wanted to create seperation on his opponent when the ball hits the ground. So everything about it was deliberate. I'd even give him 3 weeks. Players in the air should not be shoved.

Not really considered a tall .. but he's close

Still remember Tyson Edwards saying in an interview (though he was talking about his son) that most players need 4 years to find their feet

The point is it’s not fitness it’s not management.
It’s trust, they didn’t trust the kids last week in a hot game, with 4 cba’s between soligo pedlar and Rachele.
This week right from the get go they get CBA’s
41 this week in a game that was never going to be as hot.
It can only be explained as the coaching staff not having the trust to play them in the kitchen when it’s hot.
Which is disappointing, if it was fitness I could understand.

The inverse question: seeing we're in the hunt for a finals spot (and in the box seat for one) why should they trust them? Seems a complaint that's disconnected with reality.

It's arguably good development letting them handle the assignments you think they're ready for and shielding them from the ones they're not.

Ugly:

This article from the Daily Mail about how Lachlan Scholl - not Jordan butts, despite the photo clearly showing the no 41 guernsey - possibly broke his cheekbone in a collision which sent him to hospital.

Apparently Scholl was “on fire” in the opening minutes - despite the fact he didn’t come on until Butts went off!

still looks pretty cooked after a few efforts , hence for one of best kicks in our team makes errors by foot consistently

just makes me think when he gets his endurance up we are going to have a truly elite player on our hands mid/forward

nicks playing it smart , can wear that against north and played a young midfield + sloane
Can’t say I agree. He’s basically had no midfield minutes for a couple of months. Doesn’t have to play a full game in there but he’s had nothing.

Nicks has reverted to senior players when he’s being cautious even when Sloane for example has done very little. No faith in the kids more than not being fit enough

Not enough love for Sir Mitchell of Hinge in here.

26 touches and gave us huge drive off half back/wing. :thumbsu:
Best on ground for us I reckon.

still makes the odd mistake/skill error..

but 9 times out of ten he uses it well and I love his confident sidesteps in traffic.

gets better with every game.. think he’ll be a bloody good player with 100 games experience under his belt.

He’s a tall alright eventually

Trent McKenzie and Jayden Laverde started their careers on wing , are much shorter but now key defenders

How did Wayne’s post get attributed to me? I want to puke

The miraculous Jamie Elliott goal - he was standing outside the boundary line when he kicked it.

Is that allowed?

Left foot on the ground, right (kicking) foot inside the boundary line but not touching the ground

Watched him live or seen his gps numbers ?

I agree

And happy to wear his mistakes as he plays with lots of dare that we need

Still need another top level mid though

Yep.. if you swapped LDU at the start of the game with one of our spud mids and we would've won by another 40 points…

we desperately need another classy ball using mid.
