The inverse question: seeing we're in the hunt for a finals spot (and in the box seat for one) why should they trust them? Seems a complaint that's disconnected with reality.

It's arguably good development letting them handle the assignments you think they're ready for and shielding them from the ones they're not.
Wow, why should we trust the same players that have taken us nowhere? (Dawson excluded)
We get one injury to Dawson or laird and we’ll have to throw players into a finals game with little to no pressure game experience.

Very well said !

Yep.. if you swapped LDU at the start of the game with one of our spud mids and we would've won by another 40 points…

we desperately need another classy ball using mid.

We need a clearance beast a whole lot more tbh. Even if they're pretty mid with ball use. Most of the side is loaded with good+ ball users, especially if Redman joins us in the offseason.

It's the only really holding us back at the moment is just a way to reliably break even on the inside against good sides. Us pushing Keays back there is a signifier of how dire that need has become as the year is going on.

Milera has been solid most of the year.

Despite the disparagement he cops
His 1st month was poor... but pleased he now playing consistently good football.

Worrell also has looked comfortable playing on taller players the last 2 weeks when we have had injured key defenders.

Adds plenty to our flexibility.
His isnt a short lad though.. he’s listed at 195cm..

you can sometimes forget that as he plays very mobile and can play on smalls and talls..

doedee is good but as far as an intercept defender type.. worrell has way more upside IMO. Just needs to build further experience through game time.

he’s a good interceptor.. maybe not as good as doedee.. as good a mark as doedee.. better kick than doedee.. and better 1v1 defender than doedee..

and nearly 10cm taller than the dude..

its why I really dont mind if doedee goes to geelong or brissy as a free agent at years end.. as I reckon worrell is gonna be better in the wash up… and it opens up more salary cal space not having to pay doedee a decent chunk of money.

Yeah.. milera was hot garbage in those first few rounds.. but he’s really put it together now.

you know his form is back when he becomes that teflon coated bloke that opponents can never grab hold of and his disposal becomes very clean.

smith is a worry.. just lost all drive and his golden boot has vacated him. Makes shit, rushed decision's too cause the games become too fast for him. Replace him with Bailey williams or Redman next year please..

Smith was poor today... but overall reckon he has has a decent season.

However his percentage of poor games is increasing & we need a replacement strategy.

Something very telling in the commentary late that they didn't really elaborate on.

In 2020 we were 18th and North were 17th

In 2023 we've improved to 6th with a realistic chance to play finals. North are still 17th. They were also 15th back in 2017

Huge difference in how the clubs have been run off field. North diabolical. We implemented sweeping changes. Shows there are lots of elements to get right in a rebuild and North haven't got much right
North suck. I believe the club should be cut loose because (whilst it may debt-free now) it will forever be a serial drain on the league and us viable clubs.

Yeah, why? Football is completely about the now, so why select players you think are shitter than your first line mids for a game you need to be at your absolute best to win. An easy kill? Makes sense to experiment more. Both to get time into other lads and save your best mids.

The taken us nowhere is just a pointless complaint at best, and at this point, wrong. They were the lads designated to hold the fort down through the being purposely shit phase of a rebuild, and they succeded at that task as we're kicking out of it. They did a damn good (and arguably too good of a) job in the last couple of years.

We clearly know who our next core is - our contract extensions clearly indicate as much. This phase is just about pumping games into them. It doesn't matter where on the field providing they're going at a good click.

You start out with “it’s about the now” in the first paragraph and the last you follow it up with “this phase is about pumping games into them.”
Which is it?

Nah..

Redleg Rum (the original version)

Around the same price.. just a bit smoother IMO..

I like Kraken too though..
And Salior Jerry, which has a bit more bite and is a little less refined.. which I dont mind sometimes.

Straight.. no ice.
Have you ever been to the Caribbean?

Only time I have drunk plenty of rum.

Went to one of their distilleries & for around $5 could drink as much as I wanted from 50+ different rums.

Was all self-service.

I love the way these young guys all go into bat for each other, we saw it last week with the lippy 8 touch a game american, and this week after the late hit on Muzza. They’re all very quick to look out for each other, great signs of the closeness of the playing group
Pretty much all premiership-winning sides have a strong camraderie and genuine desire to play for each other.
