Feels like this is going to end up like pick 2 for Lachie Weller level incompetence from GC. AFL needs to cut their losses with that joke of a club, it can't be trusted to look after itself.

Gold Coast have been a joke since inception. The flow on effect of some teams getting absolute gold for next to nothing.

Freo, tigers and now Geelong.

Agreed, this isnt like a normal trade either - given salary dump trades are a new thing, why not say they are akin to free agency and will be treated as such.

In any event, equalisation only works where all players are solely motivated by getting the most money they can - where that isnt the case (i.e. culture, state, finals opportunities etc) successful 'big' clubs will always win out.
