Firstly, the "No Kane Cornes" Rule is back

That's all that goodwill that we create with other clubs by helping players get to their preferred destination for peanuts.
Yes we are now seen as push overs at the trade and will overpay and accept less...and people still preach we should continue with giving good will.

Look at Geelong, what good will have they given?

So have we made the most of our abundance of cap space and purchased pick 7 yet ? These salary dump deals are tailor-made for poor sides with oodles of cap room.
You’ll be happy when he nominates Geelong so your hanging shit at Hawthorn can continue

That's the thing, if Geelong can do that, then why would GC need to dangle pick 7?

Feels like this is going to end up like pick 2 for Lachie Weller level incompetence from GC. AFL needs to cut their losses with that joke of a club, it can't be trusted to look after itself.
Would be funny now that Geelong has publicly overplayed just how into Bowes they’ve been for so long if Gold Coast were to take pick 7 off the table.

Give them Bowes for free in a late pick swap.

If Geelong reject receiving the player they’ve been into “for years” for free then they’ll have exposed themselves as being full of it.

The most bizarre thing about the Bowes trade is his worth nothing, clubs are basically purchasing pick 7.

Sounds like gold coast got a tap on the shoulder by head office that geelong needed some love. Nothing about this trade makes sense.
If geelong end up with Bowes and fit him in through restructuring his contract then GC should really be questioning if they should be giving up pick 7...surely pick 7 is only if they take his contract as is...otherwise its just a normal trade?

I have had an update from a good contact that the tour is still

its time.

Can't see the Hawks ****ing this one up mate, salary dumps with top 10 picks attached are for shit sides, not for the reigning premiers.

If Geelong get this one over the line it would be a bigger heist than our win Easter Monday.

FFS stop whingeing about people whingeing about Geelong

We need to try take more salary from Gold Coast, say 2 players at $500K each and Pick 7.

Surely Gold coast will send pick 7 to the team who takes on the most salary.

Still can't believe he would take $1.6mil from Cats over 4yrs, rather than 1.6mil over 2 and then get another 300,000 or so for year 3 & 4.
Yes, clubs have been kicking his salary can down the road for a while now. Maybe hawks should go we'll pay 1mil in year one to catch up what you've been missing out on.

I can't believe Gold Coast won 25 games from 2017 to 2021 and in that time they needed to get players to back end their contracts so they could fit everybody in. That is some seriously messed up list management.

Exactly and to be enticing to other clubs they surely could have just offered a 2nd which would have gotten some clubs to bite while they kept 7.

It's seriously strange.
