If Bowes is owed 1.7 it’s going to take another 1 mill minimum from the cats to get him to be able to spread it out over 5 years.

2.7 over 5 years.

Something like this is a lot of coin to be paying someone who will struggle for a game.

If we cop some injuries and for argument sake finish bottom we miss out on the next big thing, Harley Reid… I don’t think we can afford to trade our Future first under any circumstances.. Just my opinion..
100% correct. Massive draft next year apparently, a LOT of talent. We have our father/son pick in Luke McCabe who is currently tracking to be around the mid to lat 1st round area. No guarantees that will stay that way, but atm it seems we would get our first round pick in next year, then have to match a bid for McCabe. So if we are trading a future, our 2nd would be the best to do it with. First round pick in 2023, then McCabe, and something later. Still a reasonable haul.

That Acres trade puts us in good stead for Meek, surely.

We can’t be handing over anything other than and later pick.

If geelong end up with Bowes and fit him in through restructuring his contract then GC should really be questioning if they should be giving up pick 7...surely pick 7 is only if they take his contract as is...otherwise its just a normal trade?
Yup it wouldn’t actually make sense. We shall see how it all falls soon enough.

Assume its his principal residence

If it's a working farm then you can only claim an exemption on 2 hectares. Being that he has 20 hectares he would still be in for it come disposal.

Are you saying he will get $1.6m over the next two years wherever he ends up? Or he wouldn’t agree to do it with GC, but would agree at a different club?
I think it depends where he lands. But if GC dont agree to trade him he will play out the two years on current salary.

Why would you extend it out and reduce the next two years to he 7th in line ?

I have had an update from a good contact that the tour is still
scheduled for this afternoon. They have not been told anything to the contrary by his management team. The appropriate question has been asked.

That said, my other source was very, very clear where he thought he was going.
