Firstly, the "No Kane Cornes" Rule is back

Seeing as Tom will be a restricted FA next off season, what's the chance we'd be awarded a second rounder if we don't match his potential new contract?

Let's say we finish bottom 4, we'd get around pick 23.

I don't believe Tom is a FA next year

I think it's fine to read the bit about Mitchell.

Hawks accepting 41 and 51 to relieve cap space?

Honestly, happy to keep him if the usual chicken-s**t offers are coming in

What the we have heaps of cap space already

He’s not a free agent.

Am I right to assume that if he was to stay next season it would be his 7th year with us which means he doesn’t qualify as a FA by 1 god damn freaking year? Geez we seem to be getting screwed left, right and centre on almost every technicality lately. If it’s not something like missing out on a FS by a dozen or so picks it’s something like this.

In my Dr Evil voice ‘throw us a fricken bone AFL gods’ 😞

Wouldn't net us much as a compo pick either way at his age with the contract he would get

People on here melt because we get screwed by free agency and get a very late pick, now we are melting because someone isn't a free agent.

Wright was a good footballer at GC & had plenty of potential. Another absolute garbage deal made by that shitheap of a club.
You now what - we should have been sniffing around Wright but, nada, zilch nothing. Was exactly what we needed then and need right now. Poor effort by Wright at the time

Strange place to hear it, but the news update on Gold FM just said that the six way mega deal would now need to involve Hawthorn and Lions to get it over the line….

Is this real life?

Hawthorn, led by coach Sam Mitchell, who gave the most impressive pitch and offered more money in the last two years of a four-year deal.

Adelaide was the most desperate to get him while Brisbane was understood to be incentivised by the draft pick and points on offer.

But Geelong’s interest spans over more than 18 months and came well before the lure of pick 7 while Bowes wasn’t interested in going to a rebuilding club after spending six years at the Suns.

Bowes has obvious links to former Suns skipper Gary Ablett and his relationship with Dangerfield stems back to his time with the Allies under-18 team, with the premiership midfielder driving him back to Melbourne after assisting coach Brenton Sanderson.

Dangerfield has wrapped his arms around Bowes ever since, becoming a confidant for him throughout his career.

Cats coach Chris Scott, Dangerfield and recruitment manager Andrew Mackie were all part of a meeting with Bowes where they pitched a role that would see him used across the every part of the ground, rotating through the middle like many of the players.

Bowes is understood to now be jumping out of his skin to play at Geelong and earn a spot in the team’s best 22.

But wait, I thought we'd been told it was because MM was asleep at the wheel, didn't have the guts, and waited too long to show interest???????

Finally, the afl is listening to punters on bigfooty 😂
