I am not on twitter because I assume it is full of self promoting fuc& wits like this. Did somebody at least state that that is not tabloid? Tabloid is making up crap to directly affect the bottom line without any consideration of quality, integrity or accountability?

Stupidity like this by the press should stoke the fires in the bellies of the players. They're sick of it and so are the Fans. Try and keep us down this year parasite media. The Saints are still here bitches. :p

Dear St Kilda,

You're stiff. Very stiff.

It seems more certain than ever that your premiership window has slammed shut. The only way to prise it open again is to be bold, daring and invest in the national draft.

You had the chance to start that last year, but went with the present instead of the future.

In a sense, that's understandable given your record with drafting over a long period.

We're still surprised by what you did last year when you got your hands on picks 12 and 13 in last year's draft then jettisoned them during the trade period.

You have the second oldest playing list in the competition.

Better to punt on kids and chase a flag in 2018 than wallow for an extended period in the bottom half of the ladder with a delusion that a premiership remains within reach with this group.

Yours Sincerely,

Glenn McFartflame

Be more relevant after a few more games if he's still struggling. But after two it's just like they had the piece ready to go before the year and were just hoping he would struggle early on.

The filth are great and the Saints stink. Funny, last year's premier has the same number of nominations - yet no mention. Hawthorn have the same number of nominated players remaining on their list. No mention. Ditto North. Ditto Adelaide. Ditto no mention. If Armo had got a nomination in 2009 when he got 3 brownlow votes for 22 possessions, 10 tackles and 1 goal? All good? Stupidity and bias to the fore again.

Rising Star nominations ... provide a fascinating insight into a club's talent base and list-management strategy.

Collingwood, which has played finals for the past seven years and has 10 nominees in the past six seasons (eight remain), with more exciting recruits already on show this year.

At the other end of the spectrum, St Kilda has managed just four nominations from 2007, underlining Ross Lyon's unwillingness to play youngsters and its list-management failings.

Timmy from Tooltown has already used that article to squawk about how poor our youth development is compared to Collingwood.

Rhys Palmer also won the damn rising star award, what good did that do Freo and him? Means bugger all in the grand scheme of things

Stephen Milne reads the play better than almost any small forward in history: he gets in dangerous positions, yet sidesteps trouble when the big boys arrive.

For one of the few times in his polarising-yet-decorated career, Milne has ignored that message, and it could cost him a graceful exit from the game.

Milne's "facial" on Essendon's Courtenay Dempsey has cost him a one-week suspension, the respect of his coach, and - potentially - any chance of playing for St Kilda again.

He will at least be comforted by the growing likelihood fellow veteran Justin Koschitzke could play tomorrow, after at some stages in the off-season looking like the highest-priced VFL player in history. o_O

I must say, although not living in the Melbourne fishbowl of gutter journalism, it is refreshing to see all the Bombers supporters up in arms over the media's treatment of their club while the ASADA investigation is going along at present. It is always interesting to see how 'defensive' supporters become of their club once it's bombarded with negative media... As StKilda supporters, we know of this all to well.

Isnt it nice that this saga is not StKilda-based? Ahhhhh, feels good in a way. Now other clubs' supporters will know how we felt 2-3 years ago.

There is one thing i will say to the Bombers supporters though: Don't hold your breath for an apology if it all turns out to be heresay.

Afterall, we as Saints supporters are still waiting for apologies (that will never happen of course) from Caroline Wilson, Derryn Hinch, & any other scum-journo that took a sociopathic 17 yr old girl's storytelling lies as gospel truth, instead of actually doing some investigative journalism of their own on the matter...

In 20 years time, copies of the Herald Sun will be filed under ''Dramatic Fiction'' in libraries around the country.

I haven't got the article unlocked and the google trick isn't working right now for me, but the opening paragraph is this:

THE AFL will almost certainly grant St Kilda's "bold" bid to play two home games a season in Wellington in the next two years.
St Kilda chiefs hope to use strong Kiwi interest in the historic Anzac Day clash against Sydney to back its case for a second home game in August in 2014 and 2015.

This has been written by both Jay Clark and Jon Ralph. Are they telling me two of their journalists couldn't be bothered with a two second google search which would tell them that we have a three year arrangement for 5 games in NZ?

Or maybe the math is causing them problems? Maybe neither could quite work out that after one game over there we'd have four to play, equally out to a nice average of two per year?

Or, as my quick google search shows what The Age wrote in September

Under St Kilda's arrangement with Wellington City Council, there will be two ''home'' games in 2014 and again in 2015, against opponents that have not yet been determined.

But no, pay for content that is still uncertain of events that were officially announced seven months ago!

They are writing from direct quote from Gillon McLachlan. Cant just go and change his words around. Its fair article.

AFL deputy chief executive Gillon McLachlan said although the Saints' proposal had not yet been approved by the league, the signs were "very promising".

"They've obviously spoken to us about whether we would contemplate two games next year and two games (the year) after," McLachlan said.

"But it's in the context of we'll see how this game goes, and on the crowd and the success of the game, and have a look at it after that.

"It's obviously a very bold play from St Kilda."

Apparently over the past few months a senior Herald Sun journo has pitched a number of hard-hitting, investigative AFL-related stories (read: scandals) to the editors, who have told him to leave them alone as they don't want to rock the boat. Perhaps on one level that's not surprising (I don't read the Hun that often except for Saints articles but a number of your refer to it as a newsletter for the AFL) but to me it's quite shocking to hear that it's that blatant. And I don't doubt the veracity of the story - very reliable source.

Who exactly are these arseclowns quoting?

Stephen Milne named in not-so welcome return

Scott Watters has given Stephen Milne the green light to return from suspension, but it was no "welcome back".

"The challenge comes straight back down to Stephen Milne, Nick Dal Santo and probably David Armitage. That challenge is squarely presented to our leaders this week. To win this type of game your leaders need to stand up, and those players need to be ready for the challenge."

Watters said Siposs deserved another chance after displaying strong form at VFL level. "He played really well last week. He went back and improved in some areas we wanted him to improve in, but that's going to be ongoing. He plays this week and if he performs and delivers in the areas we want him to deliver in, he stays in the side."

The Daily Filth accidentally highlights St Kilda when all they were trying to do is suggest that Collingwood should get more.

St Kilda will wear a heritage guernsey that carries Mick Malthouse's name against Carlton

"Staff writer"

St Kilda will surely make AFL history when players wear special heritage guernseys on Monday night against Carlton: their jumper will carry the name of the opposition coach.

To mark the club's 140th anniversary, the Saints will wear black-and-red hooped jumpers that replicate the design of those worn in their inaugural match against Carlton in 1873.

The jumper will also feature the names of the 1551 footballers who have represented the club, among them a 53-game defender from the 1970s named Michael Malthouse.

Armitage "This is about honouring those former players and acknowledging our history. I think it's pretty cool that we're doing it."

The players knew about the one-off jumper, but "to actually lay eyes on it is quite interesting. Just scanning through all of the names. I didn't manage to find my own name. But Chips (Fisher) was there on the front, so he was happy".

The jumper has proved popular with fans, who have ordered more than 800.

Scott Watters said he would reward consistent VFL performers, with youngsters Tom Ledger (31 disposals last week), teenager Jimmy Webster, ruckman Tom Hickey and Sam Dunnell  in the mix. Farren Ray, Tom Simpkin, Terry Milera and James Gwilt also have selection claims.

The Paywall strikes again.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/tea...-stadium-tonight/story-e6frf9n6-1226641566277

The Blues arrived at Etihad Stadium for a pleasant autumn stroll that would surely see them displace arch-rival Collingwood in the eight, and it showed. (what the _uck has it got to do with the filth?)

Betts could miss weeks for a high shepherd on Wright that could have damaged the Saint's jaw. (Who was he shepherding? Where was the doubt the weak prick damaged Wright's jaw given he was immediately subbed off?)

At the end of this wierd and wonderful night, St Kilda had snatched a deserving win. (Saints were in front for almost the whole game!!!)

They initially had the old "Stevens" in the article; I had to correct them.

Maybe they were right - there did seem to be two of them running around.
