And you do historical better than poster profiles. I'll be negative whenever I feel the need. Same as I'll warmly welcome new posters to this place - you being one of them. Don't expect gratitude but nor do I expect to be told which version of me you demand.
I'm a one trick pony:(

Well engage when you think I'm talking through my backside so I can improve my standard of posting across the topics. I wrote a lengthy post in relation to Matty Kreuzer. If you disagreed then I'm happy to here your point of view and respond.

It seems to me that so much comment is fostered by a mob mentality and it seems that Kruez is an easy target given his status as a number 1 pick and the expectations heaped on him from the start of his career. He's certainly had setbacks and is finding it difficult to reach a standard where the knockers shut up and leave him alone. However, he's young, 25 in a couple of months, and has plenty of time to develop into the type of player we've hoped for and seen on plenty of occasions to have the confidence that it will happen.

Clearly your a respected character on BF. I like your posts, as in the main, I find them alternative, sometimes insightful and always worth a read. I apologise for upsetting you.

That being said. I'm not prepared to sit back and let the lunatics run the asylum (general comment, not referring to the extinct marsupial cat from Tasmania blasted to said extinction because the Government paid bounties for killing them:thumbsdown:)

Fair call. I can't for the life of me recall bagging out MK to the extent that I would be castigated for it. I do recall writing something along the lines of continually hoping he does well ie better than he has done.

I overheard a conversation recently where two guys were discussing the extinct animals they would most like to hunt and Thylacine was at the top of their list. I did ask them if they saw the irony in suggesting that they would enjoy killing an animal they regretted was extinct but their response did not fill me with much confidence that they had seen the irony........

Spot on old boy.
Kreuzer needs some confidence and some games under his belt. Give him a month in the NB's and bring Casboult in to be the second ruck behind Warnock.
I have said elsewhere... seeing as he is off for the next 6-8 weeks... pack him away for the rest of the year. Let him run around in the Ants and regain his confidence in his body.

2010 - ACL
2011/12 Lots of fluid on the knee issues and having to get it drained on a weekly basis after a game
2013 - fractures a metatarsal and has a screw put into it to try and get it to heal quicker

FFS... it's 8 weeks on crutches and a couple of weeks recovery... and where are we now? right back where we started from.

Put him away for the rest of the year... let him play in the Bullants and let him (and McInnes) regain confidence in their bodies again.

Plus we give Levi the full season as a forward/ruckman to prove his worth to the side. If Levi doesnt cut it over the course of the year... we let him go at the end of the season and the Casbah experiment is done and dusted. Who knows... maybe playing every game for the rest of the year will bring out the best in the kid.

1. everyone keeps saying cotchin ? yes he is v good but not elite
5. this is the first i have heard of this little gem ... pretty sure the club would have jumped @ this if true ...

But your theory on drafting is correct ... we seem to get more wrong than right with our early picks .... hampson (gone), lucas, bower, russell, ... their skill levels are ordinary
I havent gone all the way through the thread... but dont believe the shit that Navy_4_Life is spilling out of his mouth.

Carlton offered up a choice of Bower or Kennedy plus picks.

West Coast wanted a tall forward more than they wanted another defender.

They would have taken Bower if we had offered up picks 1 and 3 along with him... but that wasnt going to happen. We were committed to Kreuzer in that draft.

End of story...

If I had a time machine I would still take Kreuzer, but would head back to that Freo game and send him to the bench a minute before he did his knee :)
And I wouldnt trade pick 11 for McLean and I would take Lucas and Talia :D

That is not entirely true. WCE wanted a tall forward but what they really wanted was Cotchin and the only way to get him was pick 1. Had we been prepared to deal with pick 1, we would have kept Kennedy and pick 3. In any case, this is moot because as you say, we had committed to Kreuzer.

It is Go_Blues! but that's if he goes ahead and has surgery.

Looking likely as further damage could be done if it's not managed properly.

Talk about perhaps needing a longer screw in his foot! Hope we don't wait for 2-3 weeks and then subsequently make a call on surgery which results in a further 6-8 week delay! Why do we pick-up these problems when the season has started - need better injury prognosis and management; long-term thinking would also help. Worry that Kreuz may be destined to suffer from injury woes and never get the opportunity to play a full season - hope I'm wrong!

Wouldn't mind getting Krueze to take some time off if hes not right this year. Get him ready for next year. Build his fitness and confidence in the 2s. Play Warnock the entire season as 1 ruck and up his player value. Then trade him off for the best we can get. Have Kruezer as no. 1 ruck fully fit for the future years.

Would like to agree but my gut instinct tells me that Kreuz will never be a Dustin Fletcher - little voice inside my head keeps telling me he's going to continually struggle to stay on the park.

 That is not a sane call :drunk:
If Ratts and Cordy hadnt ****ed up with Lucas... it's possible that we would be talking about Lucas with the same sort of awe in our voices as we talk about Fyfe. His first 6 or so games in 2010 were awesome. He looked a player. Then when he finally recovered enough to start playing in the AFL again... he was 2 years behind. There was something wrong there... why did it take 2 years for him to recover? why did he keep re-injuring the same areas?

2 years wasted recovering from injuries that we will never get back in terms of his footballing development. Our old medical department needs to be taken out the back and shot. And then when he finally has a full pre-season, he comes out and starts playing good football... a little bit rusty to begin with but was starting to get things right towards the end of the year when he ran out of puff.

Lets leave Kreuzer to recover for the rest of the year... just take it easy... maintain a level of fitness and towards the end of the year start playing in the VFL just to strat getting confidence in his knee back.

Yeah think we should all prepare for no Kruezer for the rest of the season. Even if they do bring him back he won't be right.
Keen to see Warnock given full 1st ruck responsibilities for the year and show us what he can do!
