I've got a funny feeling about Fev

Thankyou very much!

Trade Jolly, then we get pick 14 (at least). Add it to our pick 6 & then pick up Kennedy or McGlynn & Mumford.
I still think another player might go but I sure as hell am happy that we don't get Fev.
Develop our own............................& stuff the small crowds!;)

Thank God. I didn't really want Fev....now we need to get the Jolly trade done - hard to do when you are dealing with a bunch of clowns.

On a side note and OT, is it just me or is the AFL system of trading really pretty stupid - players state they want to go to a club then it's up to the clubs, who mostly hate each other, to try and work out something equitable. I realise that full on free agency along the lines of US sports if applied to the AFL might have some problems with the haves and have nots, but god it's a better system than this.

Just imagine Fev in our forward line, he would be good but would that win us another flag--------NO. So it is time to develop our own, look how White went without that thug in the forward line, massive improvement and you would hope Johnson will be the same.
It is time to build our list for a crack at the 2013-14 flag, if it works it is worth the pain that doesn't mean we can't make the finals in the meantime but with Kirky at the helm in those years we will be a chance.
Brisbane are now doing a Sydney which is not to bottom out and try and hold on to fickle members with a drawcard or d@ckhead.

oh happy happy happy :)

and relief

now the next major priority.... offloading jolly.... if we can't do it tomorrow, will we still try to get a deal done on friday?..... as once we offload jolly, we'll immediately have to find a replacement for him

to do both on friday... seems a stretch.... and i doubt the club has made much headway into negotiations for a possible replacement, whilst jolly is still a swan

Free agency as we know it really is a restriction of trade. Imagine being an apprentice plumber. You finish you term, and look at a better job. Then your boss turns round and says "you can't go there unless I get another apprentice and your new boss pays him/her, or pays for my tools for a year" and u will have to deal with i can pay u. But the other job pays more. Not fair really is it?

Now, before you all lay in:D i know how much a club can put in to a young'n, especially up here, I would just like to say...it is a free country, and a person with skills should be able to ply their trade wherever he/she likes. Unless there is a binding contract, a persons career should not be held hostage to their initial employer.

Right, now, I am not with the Players Association. I am, however, confident that a tight salary cap, and the numerous talented players coming through who are advised from a pup about money vs home, will stop teams overloading on talent..damn, i need a beer..

Well now that hopefully all that ridiculousness is over with regarding Fev, we need to get Kennedy probably for a 2nd rounder, trade Jolly for a 1st rounder and a player (Reid would be nice), and i dont really think we will get Mumford, the Cats wont want to be rid of him. Plus we will need to give up another 2nd rounder probably for him if not more.

the problem with free agency is that teams change too regularly and it ruins it for the fans...seeing your favourite player jump ship for more money...it limits the continuity of a team...but then again...the afl is extremely restrictive...

Thank god.

Gotta laugh at the Age journo who included a quote from Roos "We're not even interested in Fevola, I keep saying it and no-one believes me" and the article goes on to talk about a 'deal' that doesn't even exist and gives numerous reasons why Sydney would be the 'perfect fit' for Fev.

So relieved our recruiting staff are smarter than that!

Come on. The winds of fate are blowing.

Let's get FEV !!
(evil grin)

He'll be the best loved Swan by the end of 2010. Besides, Jesse isn't going to develop watching Vez (or vice versa). The man Fev may be a piss-head but he's still the dogs-bollocks as a forward and could teach the lads a few tricks as well as supplying us with plenty of big fat juicy goals.

The Swans fans of 1994 hated Plugger with a real venom.....until he came up here, put on a Swans jumper and started punting goals.

Oh ohhhhh!

I've got a funny feeling too now..................................

As long as we absolutely ream the Blues should we land him, I reckon I could push myself to go & watch him play a game or two in the red & white!

..............sh.t! What am I saying?

Keep him the hell away!!

Roos again denied any interest in Fevola.

"We've never been in it and I can't see us getting into it now," Roos told the Herald Sun before news of the Rischitelli decision broke.

Asked directly whether he would make a play for Fevola, Roos said: "No. I've said that for about two weeks and no one has believed me. I can't wait until 2pm tomorrow (to prove it)."
I really love Paul Roos sometimes.
