I wish we could have somehow held onto Pick 5, but who's to say we wouldn't have spent it on some 178 cm jobber who tries really hard?

I like NWM but he wouldn't last 10 seconds in Nicks's side.
I like Pickett but three years in a row off our best picks going towards small forwards when our midfield sucks balls is lunacy.

No, but it makes the player a lot more difficult to deal for. Also, I personally hope we’re able to keep our first this year, at this point in time (clearest way of getting that elite midfield talent IMO)

You’d think a pre requisite for being an expert on trade radio would be knowing the rules. They’ve been getting a heap of them wrong. They only just cottoned on to the rule about trading our future firsts and other picks that got Port in a bind.
I would agree we don't have a ticket selling midfield
I'm probably a bit more bullish on the prospects, assuming all players want and do try to be A Grade

Think the time served towards free agency just transfers with the player - the player trade just happened triggers the 17.1 (b) (ii) clause below
From 2022 rules:
17.1 Free Agents
...
(b) A Player who:
(i) is on the Primary List of a Club; and
(ii) subject to Rule 17.1(c), is removed from the Primary List by that Club on
or before the final list lodgement date in a particular year (relevant year);
will be a Free Agent in the relevant year and in each subsequent year.

Redden has lost it. Said he wouldn’t pick another player at no 1 and cost their player $10k, why would you do that? But don’t they get $5k for second pick anyway, so it’s only $5k.
Then he goes on to say about it will cost the other team more in points. You answered your own question silly.

I think "removed from the Primary List by that Club" refers to the club a player is departing from - ie. GC doing it as part of the trade with Crows ... I think (could be wrong, of course)
