I’d be pretty happy with pick 9. Don’t we already have pick 10 as well? Could potentially bundle those and move up the draft order if there’s someone we have in mind. Otherwise settle for two top 10s (realising they will drop a couple of spots after Acadamy/FS etc) and finish this rebuild.
We need at least another 2-3 KP forwards and defenders.
Tabs is 27. Only tall forward on the list. We can have a stacked midfield, but no point if we have no one to kick to. Even with just Tabs, the team struggled to score.

Assuming Jesse is gone we are in strife in forward stocks once again.
Tabs will try his heart out and be a solid focal point , but he needs help. Really hope Lobb proves me wrong but even though he wants to be one he isn’t a key forward, kicked 10 goals for the year compared to tabs 29.

**** I want brown but it’s not going to happen.
I’d be suprised if Cox wasn’t tried forward again next year

Leave or stay, after all this do you think he's going to change his ways and want to be a valuable team member.?? **** no! He's realised he's in a loveless marriage and either rebel further or quite simply not give a ****.

The horse has bolted regardless of the outcome. Just cut our losses already ffs

When you think back, there has been some amount of excuses made for Hogan.
- he’s just a young lad who likes a dart and a beer, big deal.
- he hasn’t had a proper preseason, how could he play well?
- he can’t get into the team because it’s raining and the wet weather doesn’t suit him. (Imagine saying this about a genuine A grader!)
- he needed a root whilst in quarantine, the laws are stupid anyway.

Whilst he has shown elite talent In flashes several years ago, his performances at freo have been at the level of a C grader/role player. That the harsh truth.

The club is weighing up 2 potential outcomes if he stays next year:
1. He knuckles down and kicks 50 goals and buys into Jlo philosophy.
2. He had another bit part year, a number of average performances, an off field incident or two and ends up leaving for nothing next year.

which scenario is more likely to happen, in all honesty?

if Jesse had continued to grow as a footballer during his time with us, i'd hazard that we'd have been far more patient with him being a seven year veteran of the league who turns up pissed to work like a first year apprentice.

so far in the scheme of afl ratbags he's trending insurmountably more as a harley bennel than a dustin martin.

Am i missing something with Hogan? the way some people are carrying on like Fremantle is trying to trade out a forward who has kicked 50+ goals the last two seasons. Sure he has potential to be a good player but the reality is he kicked something like 6 goals this season. I think if he goes the statement that our forward line will be screwed is being massively overstated. The guy has pretty much done nothing the last 2 seasons so what's the difference?

Perhaps, but it sounds more to me like they are trying to figure out why a team like Freo would move on a player like Hogan after two years.

I don’t think it’s coming from Freo, I think Hoges and his management are shopping him around..

The comments in court re Non AFL town... wasn’t a slip just a reflection of discussions Jesse had with his Lawyer.

If Jesse is an Introvert, then all the attention would be doing his head in!

Yeah, you are missing something. Like the fact we traded him in as a 50 goal a year forward.

I think a lot of us assumed he would continue his trajectory (injury permitting) that he was on at Melbourne. Clearly hasn't happened so far but you'd think if he rectified whatever it is that has us wanting to trade him that he'd naturally become that player.

So at this point I think it is just some people think or hope he'll come good and some have already let go.

100% agree with anybody who thinks we are super thin for tall forwards if he leaves (or even if he stays). We need to address that in the draft this year and next.

If it f**ks up our salary cap, so be it. I’d love us to offer Jesse a contract extension (5 years excluding his trigger) $300K base salary plus $20k per game played. That’s $440K if he plays 22 games per season. It shows our confidence in him and gives him an incentive to play each week. I’d even throw in a goals bonus (40+ goals per year, another $50K) and an accolades bonus (top 5 Doug, top 5 Coleman) to give him the incentive to get on the park and perform.

He’s worth more to us if we can get him right off the field and he performs to his potential on the field.

In terms of on field I agree, if we trade Hogan it's a bad deal on paper. But if the club is pretty keen to get rid of him it's not because of his football ability.

You're probably right. Even the illusion of looking into issues will make the supporters and stakeholders feel like it's ok when it proceeds. Especially with the price I hope is attached to his trade.

They should have #9, #12, #14
It's not the #3/4 from Sydney that I wanted but we should be able to extract some value out of him.

If they only offer him a one year deal then it's not going to happen, but if they put a three or more year deal on the table for Hogan then we should ask for two of those picks, or even their first next year and one of those picks.

I think you're dreaming Taylor, we're looking for a salary dump with off field issues. Anything inside pick 25 is a win, wouldn't be surprised if he's traded for a pick in the mid-30's.

Lobb's no star but he takes a good defender. Cox is an option and Sturt is only 2cm shorter than Pav.

I am genuinely really curious as to what the issue is. It was enough for Haggers to incorrectly claim he'd never play for us again and now we are apparently pushing him out.
Hopefully he does Open Mike after he retires.

Poor body language match day and berating team mates is on the record. As are 3 or 4 off field incidents. I'm guessing the Covid breach was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I just can't see that adding up to where we are now. If that is it I think we are massively overreacting and JL seems like a pretty calm bloke (I know its not just him).

I am sure there is more to it, a lot more and us plebs will probably never find out.

All that, some more off-field antics and, tellingly, in combination with on-field output that can only fairly be rated as sub-optimal.

He hasn't, for whatever reason, bought in. He's on more coin than he is earning/deserves and we need to fix that.

I loved the idea of JesseBHogan. Once again, though, I stumble into the gulf between the dream and reality.

As for price, we will be lucky to get 29. Fortunately I back in our drafting at that sort of range waaaaaaaaaay more than I back in our trading.
