Wanna see Cocky play a full game in the middle.
Would like to see Murdoch play as a hit up forward for the whole game just to see how he goes.
Wouldn't mind seeing Bews playing another game forward too.
Piss off the tall CHF options and just try a forward line of Menzel and Murdoch as hit up targets completely out of the way of Hawkins space.
Motlop, Bews crumbing.
Maybe even give GHS a half forward too. See if it could be another option for him. Can kick a goal.

Would be interested to see this too :thumbsu:

Stewart Lonergan Taylor

Thurlow Henderson Tuohy

Duncan Menegola Lang

Cockatoo Stanley Motlop

Menzel Hawkins McCarthy

Smith Dangerfield Joel Selwood

Int: Guthrie Blicavs Horlin-Smith Scooter

Emg: Black Mackie Cowan Parfitt ZGuthie Ruggles

This is how I see the lineup for the final practice game v Essendon with the fringe players given time to show if they deserve a place.

I have assumed Kolo is not ready.

I have not heard much, but does anyone have news on McCarthys shoulder?
No. It will go one of two ways:

1. Silence for a few weeks before an Addy journo tweets something like "Luckless McCarthy out for four months" (also a chance someone from BigFooty sees McCarthy in a sling at a renowned shoulder surgeon's office)

2. He plays on Sunday and we can relax

3. Steve Hocking says there's no need for surgery.

My spidey senses will break the scale if that occurs.

1. Silence for a few weeks before the club writes an unrelated puff piece and ends the article with "oh btw, McCarthy is out for another 8 weeks with a shoulder."

Should be an overcast, gloomy day in Bendigo on Sunday.
Much better conditions than running around in the constant heat so that will see the players maintain their energy levels for a lot longer.
Probably hot playing in those t-shirts too.

It was quite warm down at richmond oval on sunday bobby....by the looks of my sunburnt glow on monday, it was a lil more than warm. Seriously I watched the game in the terraces between the interchange gates, and most of the players had that wincing look every time they came of for a rest or for rotation purposes

This might sound silly, but I hope we lose again so that they are fired up for round 1, and also the premiership odds blow out a bit.

They may as well experiment as much as possible with the side, play fringe players, rest the guns.

You're right. It does sound silly.

Apparently but who knows...

Seems like through the VFL would be the best. No point rushing him through JLT especially with groin issue at 21. If he misses a rd or two of the season we havr plenty of key position cover.

Feels like it won't happen but I'd love to see Motlop dropped. He needs to actually earn his way into the side and based on today Horlin-Smith is ahead of him.

He is a senior player so it could be just working quietly into the season haven't checked his game time. But he hasn't looked very sharp all pre-season to date hasn't moved well. No real impact in games I expected a huge pre season contract year could leave we will see

I don't know. I assume if a player is selected they are ready and if they're not they're not.
